I need to see at least one Bolton die next week or else the finale will be a disappointment. On the fence about wanting theon dead, but without the boltons he doesn't fit into the story anymore.
The entire Dornish arc felt like a waste of time and the Sand Snakes never redeemed themselves after that miserable debut.
That was some Walking Dead-esque stupidity in the fighting pits tonight. I couldn't believe how braindead so many things were. Let's start with the Queen of Mereen, Breaker of Chains, beloved by the slaves but hated by the masters, sitting direct center of thousands of people in the middle of a revolution guarded by 5 guys. That doesn't seem so safe. A Harpy is able to ninja attack behind her and the gang pretty much swarm the whole place. Security calls like 3 extra Unsullied, who are not that impressive and easily get taken out by sissy masters with knives. Then it's 100 against 15 who are surrounded. Wait, are some Harpies ex-slaves? Why would they fight with the Harpies to go back into slavery? They all go one-by-one and now the plot demands the Unsullied can fight. A few Harpies die, yet they continue to make it an even battle. Then boom, Drogon shows up and EVERYONE just stands still and stares. Might as well drop your weapons and sing kumbaya while Drogon toasts the marshmallows. Instead of swarming the Queen, the Harpies stand around and wait to be toasted. The Harpies realize they can throw spears at Drogon. WHY THE **** DID THEY NOT THROW SPEARS AT KHALEESI!? Khaleesi calmly walks up to Drogon and the Harpies are nice enough to stop throwing spears to allow this sentimental moment. Then Khaleesi rides away into the skies on her pet dragon with terrible CGI and cheese.
I just remember in the season premiere (?) she told podrick, she was going to avenge renly's death and kill Stannis.
If they follow the books at all, there is still more to come from Dorne, and it should actually serve a purpose to the overall story. As is, what they have done has been completely pointless, but I don't think it's over just yet.
My goodness, I was hoping I was not the only one writhing in pain with the stupidity of that whole scene. Are the writers not even trying anymore?
Well, that's a relief! I'm glad the highlight of the Sand Snakes won't just be Tyene's tig ol' bitties.
I think they are setting it up for season 6 and while I'm not a book reader I think Dorne is keeping it's enemies real close.
In the books there is ample evidence that Dorne is playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers. Dorne is all about plots plots and plots.
