Gregerson is no good...been saying this for weeks but people keep responding with the Astros record when he appears. He can't be a closer for this team if we want to maintain a first place lead and/or make some noise in the playoffs.
such a feel good game until that villar cued miscue. Mchugh couldn't even earn that well deserved victory.
This loss hurts. We need to ignite this team with some minor/major changes. One being with Correa coming up and when will this happen Luhnow? I believe when this happens it will elevate the team to the next level. Our SS play is atrocious as of late or since lowrie went out (can't wait till this guy is back). We can't let this lead slip anymore..... Rangers are coming.
At a bare minimum, Marwin needs to start at SS until they decide to call up Correa. Too many defensive problems with Villar on the field.
Correa needs to be up here NOW! This organization has sucked for long enough. Can't let sub major leaguers like Gonzales and Villar continue to **** up and play every day when you have the best prospect in baseball at a position of need. Luhnow needs to stop stalling. Once Lowrie is back, replace Valbuena with him.
I hope that tomorrow EVERYONE tells me how wrong i am, but the only way we win tomorrow is if Mc2 throws a complete game, 1 run allowed. But going against one of the best pitchers in baseball, they way we are hitting right now, can you see that happening??? Probably tomorrow, because is a lefty we are not only going to see Villar play, but Marwin, can you spell disaster? And Correa??? Fine, in triple A. We are going to lose tomorrow, Rangers winning, 2.5 games, maybe 1.5 if they play tomorrow, and we are going to win on tuesday. Then Hernandez back, another loss. That is the way this team is going. White Sox won 2 out of 3, without throwing their best pitcher. Things are not looking good. Now, if you want me to be a blind fan, ok. Yeahhhhh, we are winning tomorrow, we are going to score 10 runs against Sale. Villar's remind me of Ozzie Smith. Marwin with another double. Ok, that is what is going to happen tomorrow. Ahhhh, and let me remind you, Chicago did not play their best hitter in 2 of the 3 games last time. Lately this team looks more like the team from last year, than the team from the early part of this year.
:sources: club astros was raided by the police. minor caught drinking at Shortstop. It's shutdown til further notice. hopefully reopens tomorrow night.
What makes closer "stuff"? Career whip at 1.07, career 0.67 hr/9, career around 9k/9. What are people looking for? He had a rough bit with the personal issues, was fine, and then yeah blew a save today. He has a track record and has been pretty good...are there options you're infinitely more comfortable with? If so, based on what?
Sox are 3-2 this season with Sale on the hill against teams with winning records I would crown them victors quite yet
"And Will Harris gave up a HR today.... to somebody that Gregerson got to pop up." If we're going to throw out career stats and simply look at what has happened only this year, or hell... this month/week... and treat that as fact, then the above statement holds true and.... "Harris sucks, Gregerson sucks, Neshek is good because he had a good game (despite hard hit balls and a walk), Fields was good but sucks now because he gave up runs the other day, and Qualls/Sipp always suck all the time and Hinch should never bring them in ever!" I knew fans would come back after some success... what I didn't realize was how much the long break between success would significantly hamper the awareness and quality of analysis here.
yep--I would actually cut any player that gives up a run on Opening Day. Their ERA is WAYYYY too high to be in the majors Did you know the Yankees benched Mariano Rivera one year when he gave up a run on Opening Day? They actually decided he didn't have "closer stuff", based on the mick fry method--one of the smarter methods that exists
