Although there is no question that Gs has been the best team in the NBA this year, their road to the championship in the playoffs has been rather easy. They probably would have faced a much tougher series against SA or the Clippers. However, they earned that easy road by setting one of the best regular season record in league history. If anything this tells teams that regular season matters.

I dont know if you actually watched Jordan that year, but its mystifying to me that you thought he was anywhere close to resembling the same player he was before he first retired or after. In 17 games his fg % was 411% which was not only a career low but a HUGE drop off from the two season prior of 495% and 519% and the season after, which was 495% and 485%. His TS was likewise incredibly low at 493% compared to the 4 seasons in between of 582, 579, 569 & 564%. Likewise his WS per 48 during the 94-95 season was over .100 pts lower at .167 compared to the four season in between of .317, .283, .274 & .270. Those number as well as common sense and what was obvious to everyone watching was that Jordan was clearly not close to top form after having not played professional basketball for more than a year and half. Just because he scored 55 in one game or hit one game winner does not disprove this.

The luckiest run in almost for every.

Memphis, Tony Allen gets hurt and in the final game a key play where they should have tied the game with 3 free throws, no call, Curry flings it from 3 quarter court.

Run into us with 2 of our starters out, then Kyrie's knee is ****ed and he is out.

If people can use the 'MJ retired' line against our Championship, this mofo's should have this next to there Championship.

The Warriors will be the most fortunate Championship in a long time.

don't forget that Mike Conley wasn't half the player he was because he had about 8 injuries and he really needed to be in a hospital bed, instead he's playing.

I don't think you can say whether one road to the NBA ring is tougher or not, esp. in GSW's case because they were the number 1 seed, that means all throughout the season they were the ones who beat everyone else the most so how can it be all due to luck? This is what I like about the NBA, it isn't like NFL where some team who nobody even knows gets a winning streak going and wins the superbowl or the NCAA where a team who has a perfect season gets "upset" because of some BS single elimination victory against a scrub they beat 99 times out of 100, in the NBA you go through a best of 7 series every damn time.

It's not GSW's fault Houston, Cleveland and Memphis couldn't get their act together, that's like looking at Houston beating the Clips and saying we're lucky Chris Paul is such a choker and allowed the Clips to lose after going 3-1. Houston beat the Clips fair and square, GSW beat us fair and square....this year. Next year, hopefully the Rox will stomp all over them like Tjones did to that homeless man before.

The people here dort want to hear this, you won't have much luck with those numbers. Saying Jordan scored 55 is the first thing people shout when discussing that championship.

The truth is, you'll barely find any championship that didn't partially involve luck, you barely ever witness a season where none of the top teams have to deal with injuries and other issues.

Easier to get a really good record when your players miss the least amount of games in the league due to injury. Like many have said, can't fault them for not being injured.

no asterisk... but like a few other championships... GSW will win this by default.

i wonder if the league will shorten the season ever... so many injuries late in the year means.... WHAT?

they were down 2-1 to memphis. from game 3 through game 6, tony played a total of 20 minutes the rest of the series.

also mike conley's best game was game 2 coming back after 6 days rest or so, and after that, he wasn't the same guy.

the grizzlies are the only team that beat gs @ gs in more than 3 months, and that was with mike conley playing like himself.

so yeah they could really lucky.

the other thing is that beno was playing with an injury that kept him from playing well and he was the key to our bench scoring, so yeah there were a lot of things that could have made gs's life hell if the grizzlies were anything like themselves.

I don't get this "easy" road thing.

The Spurs were relatively healthy and they were beaten by the Clippers. We then beat them. And the Warriors beat us.

Unless you believe that the Warriors would have a cake walk beating the Spurs, why would you think they had a cake walk beating us, who beat the team that beat the Spurs?

It usually takes some luck to win a title. No different here that they had fortuitous health this season.

In a lot of ways, this year was a fluke....or rather if they don't make a long playoff run next season, I'll be seen as nothing but a fluke because odds are they won't have another season where they stay almost completely healthy and literally all of their playoff competition loses key players.

Luck is a part of almost any championship run, but I don't think I've seen a team get THIS lucky in a long long time.
