    The team was atrocious defensively.

I think you will find that Gsw makes any defense look feeble in the end.

Harden had 12 TURNOVERS in his last playoff game. We need another ball handler on this squad, essentially I feel like that is what Harden meant when he said "Get me help at the gaurd position." we need that person to take the pressure off Harden when controlling things and thats something Rubio excels at especially in the open floor. If we keep Brewer imagine what Him,KJ, and Smith can do on the break.

If we get Rubio (I want to) we cannot field Smith, Brewer, Ariza, JHoward, Capela around him. Not enough shooting to offset his weakness considering he becomes our #2 ballhandler.

Brewer was absolutely awful outside of 2 or 3 games in the postseason.

    Cyber,
wouldn't signing Llull have a lot bigger effect on the Rockets ability to retain either KJ McDaniels or Josh Smith than Brewer? Rockets have early bird rights on Brewer and could go over the cap and offer him a very large contract with out needing the MLE.

You're leaving out Harden and DMo, which are 2 plus shooters. However I do agree, we'd need to add another shooter at the 4 and on the wing to come off the bench.

However, think about this starting unit around Ricky.

    Harden - 37.5% from 3. 40.5% catch-and-shoot 3's.

    DMo - 36.8% from 3. 38.8% catch-and-shoot 3's.

    Ariza - 35% from 3. 36.4% catch-and-shoot 3's.

    Dwight - pick-and-roll finisher....none better.

Now, that's with Harden at the point. That means Ariza was getting crowded more often than not because with Smith/Jones on the floor Ariza was the #1 perimeter 3-ball option off the pick-and-roll action. Ariza was the player Harden passed to the most.

Now, take Harden off the ball, and put 2 of those 3 guys in the corners, preferrably Ariza and DMo with Harden up top and on catch-and-shoot 3's you're over 40% easy.

Of course, how to acquire Rubio without giving up DMo .... is beyond me.

More importantly Dwight has nowhere else to go. The Rox are the 3rd best team, and Cleveland and GSW have no capspace to sign him. At this point he needs the Rox more than we need him so even if he does leave we can use the capspace on someone else.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother with Brewer, would rather invest in KJ McDaniels and see if he grows at all.
Brewer is very handy, but he has these games where he is simply diabolical from the field, and overplays his gambling defence.

It would be hard for KJ to be less 'physical' than Brewer, he is more athletic, and again, it would be hard for him to be a worse shooter (currently both guys are 29% career shooters, but Brewski hasn't actually been over 29% since 2012 (he was 29.6% on that season).

Defensively we know where Brewer is, he's good! But I have a feeling McDaniels could be equally good, and probably improve his shooting as his career goes on. Even a marginal improvement in 3pt% would make him a better fit than Brewer.

Speaks really highly of how the org values Llull if they're willing to essentially trade brewski for him

Hes talking about next offseason when dwight has the opt out. Next offseason everyone will have cap tp sign him. The cap jumps by 20 mil. But who would? thats another story. He will be 30 has a ton mileage on his body and relies on athleticism.

It would be kind of nice for Mcdaniels to kind of model his game off of Brewer's. I think he would a great transition player if he improves his ball handling and runs hard like Brew.

You have a GM that values flexibility. Nuff said. Team has to fix other positions as well and Brewer isnt what we need with is broke jumpshot

There were times Brewer was all we had to win with in the 4th Q. Hope we keep him.

If the team had better shooting Brewer would be ideal. He is one of the best players in the NBA at starting a comeback due to his relentless energy but due to our marginal shooters he isn't necessarily the best fit on our roster.

With that said, I love the guy-will never forget what he did and would be happy if he re-signs. Just not heartbroken if Morey brings in someone who can Stroke.

Not sure why Llull's decision has anything to do with Brewer. We're not planning to sign Brewer to MLE anyway.

I think a lot of us get caught up in what we want to do. We forget that this isn't NBA 2k. You really think Brewer would take a pay cut?

We need to go after Marco bellenelii get some 40%+ 3 point shooting. This team was deadly on offense 3 season ago before dwight got here. A lot was made about our poor defense those seasons but I think keeping the offense intact with an improving Harden might have been the icing on the cake. Now we have great defensive players with one offensive superstar. Imagine harden with delfino type shooter or a Arron brooks type shooter. We sorely miss that he'll even Lin had atleast fifteen 25+ Point games both year in Houston. This team is offensively challenged its hardens offensive brilliance and Howard's determination that got us as far as we did. If we can get back to playing the way we did in hardens first year with just incorporateing howard over Asik this team can win it all. Harden much better mentally and physically then his first year here. He will only get better in both departments.

Harden gets flack and any great will, even MJ got ragged for years lebron too I know some of you guys don't want to admit it and I don't know why but harden has something speacial about him and could end up near those guys level. Iv been watching the NBA for 30 years and mj, lebron, Hakeem, Shaq and KD have been the most gifted players individually I have ever seen. I have seen harden play at that level for 30 games twice now in his rockets tenure and this is before and at age 25. His last 30 games to end last season was phenomenal and his back to back player of the month this season were as good as it gets. He needs to harness that an bring it all year or close too it and then Surely play at that level in the playoffs. This guy can be a multiple mvp and win multiple championships. He plays for the rockets not the bucks, houston is a top notch org. With a lot of money to spend. We got harden dwight Howard in his second season here it takes time but morey will surround harden with the talent he needs to truely lead Houston to were we all want. We can build a dynasty with harden this is not cheap okc it's sustainable here and I belive morey/les/harden will get it done soon.

There is no need for that with his Early Bird rights. Perhaps Les doesn't want to do that, or Brewer might be annoyed at a reduction in playing time if Llull comes over.

My feeling is that Llull will send up staying in Spain though. It's too bad the Rockets haven't been able to trade his rights for a pick.

I don't know, man. I actually think he will. Especially if Real wins the tourney again.
