I didn't really like Boyhood or Birdman. Boyhood was too long and i couldn't relate to any of the characters. The concept of the filming the movie over all those years was the only thing that kept me going. Birdman, was meh... I'm not really into theater, so the plot of the movie wasn't interesting to me.

I absolutely hate Titanic. I don't get the hype at all.

Kind of a small hit but not popular is Cedar Rapids. I freaking love that movie LOL!!!

FWIW the most recent 3 are much different, and much better movies than the first 4. I wasn't a fan of the first 4 movies either.

    1. Hot Fuzz! - I absolutely LOVE Shaun of the Dead, and most other Simon Pegg movies, but I literally cannot even finish Hot Fuzz, it's like it's incompatible with my brain or something.

1a. Men in Black - The first MiB movie was just bad, they were fun enough taken as individual little scenes, but as strung together into a whole coherent movie? Terrible. The only thing worse was MiB2, which was ten times worse. I actually really enjoyed MiB3, mainly because of Clement.

1b. V for Vendetta . Possibly among the stupidest movies I have ever seen. It always amuses me when I see people praise this movie, because that tells me a LOT about the person doing the praising.

    2. Here's one for you - Corky Romano . Come on, it has Peter Falk in it! It's actually pretty funny.

2a. Jupiter Ascending . I am not a W-Brothers fanboy by any means - I think they have had more misses than hits. However, I enjoyed JA, it was fine old-school sci-fi storytelling, and I just don't think people ever even gave it a chance. I will say though, Mila Kunis has hopefully now removed all doubt that she is incapable of being a 'leading actress' in big Hollywood movies, and people can stop casting her in those big roles. She should be relegated to supporting roles only. But despite that, JA was still a fun romp.

The Hurt Locker was mediocre at best.

American Hustle was so bad I couldn't finish it. Jennifer Lawrence's accent changed about 4 times in her first scene. I love Christian Bale but that movie was just garbage. I really liked Silver Linings Playbook too.

Bridesmaids was stupid to me. I didn't find it funny at all.

Pretty much every movie based on a comic book ever, except for Batman Begins and TDK. Iron Mans, Spidermans, Supermans, I find them all incredibly dull.

Action movies in general. I watched John Wick recently and it was just so boring.

    Forgot to mention...

Hate: Wolf of Wall Street - I was really looking forward to this one but was incredibly disappointed by everything except Leo's acting. 3 hours of watching people drink and take drugs. This movie was literally painful to get through. I don't even think I made it to the end.

Thats weird because I felt exactly the opposite. Thought it was going to be a bit of a chore to get through but was thoroughly entertained throughout the whole flick.

Yeah, I'm a huge Scorsese fan but I just felt like he was trying too hard to shock me on this one. Just felt like it was all style, no substance.

Oh there was plenty of substance

I was literally in tears when he was so high and trying to get into his car.

American Hustle made my head hurt. It was predictable and just plain boring.

I watched LIMITLESS last night and realized it was a GOOD VERSION of LUCY

Put down in the camp that hated Lost in Translation.
I felt no sympathy and connection with the characters or their plight. I'm supposed to feel sorry for an aging actor who is being paid $2 mil. to shoot a 30 second whiskey ad in Japan and for a young wife married to a hot shot photographer who gets to hang out all expenses paid in a 5 star hotel in Tokyo.

As for other movies that a lot of people didn't like but I liked I'm not sure if Starship Troopers count as it was commercially successful. The acting was atrocious but I like sci-fi and Verhoeven's mockery of the military propaganda machine.

Another movie that got some critical acclaim but not a lot of commercial success from the '90's that I really like is Below which was a WWII submarine supernatural mystery.

I agree with those who liked Freddy Got Fingered and Strange Wilderness. Just rented the latter on Amazon a few weeks ago because I couldn't find my DVD.

I watched Movie 43 to see how bad it was, and ended up laughing throughout. "I don't know, a foot? Foot and a half?"
