And despite what others have said, most actually would agree that the indictments would've been much less likely had the US been awarded the 2022 World Cup. Not because there wasn't corruption but because it would have been the thing that was supposed to happen. Not sure if this was discussed in the thread so far, but what about the concerns of the World Cup in Russia? That place is far less safe for visitors than Qatar.
What's even more incredible is that India, the country supplying most of the migrant laborer to Qatar is perfectly OK with this death rate.
