If the Rockets draft a PG with either of their two picks, and bring over Llull, are we pretty much assuming Nick Johnson is probably not making the team, or what do you guys think of him moving forward? I mean the guy just doesn't scream play-making NBA PG to me, and at best I could see him being a Courtney Lee type of guard, but he has yet to develop a jump shot.

Really like the kid, but I'm just struggling to see a future for the guy.

I am personally just looking forward to the bad local commercials that redo the "Yao, YO" commercial, but with "Llull, Ya'll" instead.

Maybe he could be buying barbecue. Or a truck.

Europe has different stats because every player 1-5 has solid fundamentals, resulting in very balanced scoring so really 9 pts there is like 15 pta in the NBA. Percentages are a better indicator of his scoring ability, and Llull had those %s as the focal point of the offense in Htown as the 3rd/4th option his % will rise even more.

Reminds me a lot of Scola actually, people scoffed a lot when he was broguht here too as a starting PF and he instantly proved the doubters wrong. Llull is NBA ready and at 27 years old he's already in his prime. I expect him to battle Bev for the starting spot all season long.

Couldn't have said it any better

As for Harden's defense I especially loved when he blocked donkey-face on the baseline and then threw the ball off the leg of donkey-face.

Imagine Llull and LMA added to this team + health. OMG. (assuming no key pieces lost )

If he can be a plus defender against 1's and 2's and hit 35% from three, he can find a place in the league. There is a real need for role players that can guard both back court positions.

Honestly, if they draft a point guard at #18, that tells me Patrick Beverley isn't coming back. You don't invest what is probably going to be close to $40,000,000 (18/22) in a position over 3 years AND spend #18 on a point guard.

A rookie isn't going to be brought in to replace a starter on a team trying to contend for a title, even a fringe starter like Beverley. The Rockets will choose the BPA within reason.

Wtf are you talking about? Llull has like 7 years of development over an 18-20 year old rookie, we're talking about franchise players at pick 18 you will just get your average role player pg. Llull will be miles better than a pg we get at 18, this is like saying Scola his entire career was only marginally better than Ekpe Udoh as a rookie.

If you compare this to real life you're saying a 27 year old new hire who has 7 years of experience and was a star at his previous work place will only be marginally better than a 20 year old typical college graduate. It makes no sense whatsoever.

This is funny, but your name contains only one W, two Ls, and another one of IF.

Brewer is certainly better right now, but Brewer can also be resigned without stopping us from signing another impactful player. If KJ gets anymore than his bump from the minimum, that we can offer, then it almost assuredly means we lose Josh Smith and/or the ability to sign anyone of real significance with the MLE, like Llull. So, essentially we can have Brewer and Llull or KJ and a $3-3.5M player. Pretty easy decision.

We aren't hoping for 3 years down the line. We need to be trying to win championships now.

Yes, we only have MLE. If he asks more, then do not come.

You got Kyle Lowry without trading a single asset. Impressive.

And I see Llull as Dragic-lite in real life too. Both players are very similar in style. Particularly in how aggressive they are at attacking the basket and finishing.

Not to mention Dragic-lite in the salary.
Dragic looking to make 20M per/yr.
Llull would be making 5m per/yr.

This is my feeling too. He has done amazing scouting internationally and it's paid off for us big time.

If Morey goes after a PG, the board will be against that guy. And then he will outlive expectations. The board will fall in love with them. He will ultimately leave and get replaced by someone else that the board will be against. The cycle will repeat.
