If only Jeremy Lin would clown his mentally r****ded fans and stop them from basically worshipping him.

Kind of like when Melo clowned that one dude on twitter.

I think blueshampoo might literally kill himself. I'm sure he has absolutely nothing else to live for.

That's the point of having a team that represents a city.

What lin represents for you is hero worship.

Says you. Look at your lowly squire, Zboy, he is one hamburger short of a picnic.

    They are not basketball fans.
They can't recognize good or bad plays or players.

If you like a player because of his appearance or background, then it's not basketball reasons.

If you liked Iverson growing up because of his appearance and the new type of background he brought to NBA, and watched his games, I guess you're not a real fan of basketball.

People who like iverson for basketball reasons are sixers fans.
They don't jump team fan bases like nomad in the desert.

Allen iverson was actually a great basketball player, who doesn't get burnt out in the regular season .

You do realize that it's quite common for a team to acquire fans through fans of a specific player, right? It all has to start somewhere. Now, if that team alienates that particular fanbase, do you think that fanbase is gonna stay loyal to that team? Hell no, why would they

The debate about the "increasing urbanization of the NBA" was stupid at the time and most people recognized that. Urban black children didn't start watching the NBA because of Iverson. Your analogy doesn't make sense.

So are you just going to become a fan of every team Lin plays for? You are going to claim that every team Lin gets cut or traded away from has alienated you because they've alienated your favorite player. You aren't a fan of any NBA team.

There is nothing wrong with becoming a fan of a team because you like a particular player if you are not currently an NBA fan. Most Rockets fans are from Houston. Others started following the Rockets because of our success in the 90s. Regardless, Rockets fans don't jump ship when the team sucks. Lin fans have no allegiance.

    No chance.

Jeremy Lin is well aware of his lunatic fans and has defended them on several occasions, once while even admitting they are lunatics.

There is a reason we have not seen any significant development in Lin's game through four seasons now.

He is not interested in improving as a basketball player. His biggest weaknesses 4 years ago are still his biggest weaknesses now.

Jeremy Lin is out there to market himself to the dumb fan base of his. He knows what he has and he is bilking them for all that he can....which is perfectly fine and he should.

The rockets have had a great number of fans before lin and after lin.

But you aren't a rockets fan so they acquired zero new fans.

The fundamental problem is he is not very good and your fan base believes it's not his fault.

Tinman's opinion give you an insight on his narrow perspective of how things are. we want to keep things simple, not simple-minded. At least he doesn't embarrass himself by shouting, THATS A FACT! lolz

Nah, many of us were in the beginning. You guys are incredibly xenophobic and are quick to label out outsiders. Case in point: You always trying to act like 99'ers are another group altogether, even within the Rocket fanbase. If you push away someone who's coming to you, of course they are going to leave.

Stay close-minded, and keep it classy Tinman.

If you are only following a player because he is like you and privilege his inadequate play above players who are not like you doesn't that make you xenophobic? A lot of the antipathy towards Lin fans come from the scapegoating and making everything about race. "Why won't he play Lin? He must be a racist."

Actually, he's not like me at all. See what I mean? You are quick to assume his fans are certain demographic or ethnic group. No wonder people in Reddit NBA hate you guys.

lin tards aren't part of the Rockets fanbase, stop grouping them together

most fanboys like Kobe fans or Lebron only fans at least watches basketball, Most Lin fans aren't even basketball fans to begin with and only want to live vicariously through him because of his race.

On top of that they are rude and obnoxious to previous fan bases to the point that every fan forum from Knicks forums to Clutchfans to Lakersground absolutely despise them. but no it's their fault obviously, it's other people who are racists.

Oh talking smack about the 99ers?
Yeah we've been here since the beginning and we take pride in that.

What do jeremy lin fans take pride in?

Going on a rockets board and insulting the people who run it? Not very smart.

Calling the home team's fans racist while one of the most popular players is chinese? Not very smart.

Then saying jeremy had it rougher than Yao when he grew up in the most expensive city of palo alto?

I've met 99ers and watched some rockets games with them.

What do lin fans do together? Throw up airballs and blame it on racism?

    LOL!

    Reddit is trash.

Clutchfans is one of the best sports fan site on the internet.

It is a complement to be hated on reddit.

    Thank you!

The majority of his fanbase are of a certain demographic and constantly bring up race. It's not that much of a presumption.
