Actually, not Correa, but Appel. I thought Appel was going to be the one this year doing those kind of things.
IF McCullers can go deep into games, and with that i mean 6 plus innings, he has the number 2 stuff, by far. I've said that before, thats why i had McHugh 4 when you mentioned i did.
I expected Appel would be up about now pitching deeper in games, but not as dominant. McCullers is now in the top 60 in fWAR for starting pitchers along with McHugh.
You do realize he was making a joking comment about the foul lines, don't you? (or I guess from your comment, apparently not).
Jonathan Villar in left field. Well then. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Today's <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Astros?src=hash">#Astros</a> lineup as <a href="https://twitter.com/kidkeuchy">@kidkeuchy</a> gets the start at 1:10 pm vs. O's. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Whiff?src=hash">#Whiff</a> <a href="http://t.co/YOBOaiV7Ns">pic.twitter.com/YOBOaiV7Ns</a></p>— #VoteAstros (@astros) <a href="https://twitter.com/astros/status/606479586486919169">June 4, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Yup, his stuff is sick. My biggest concern with him was that he would be a 5 inning guy 4 times out of 5...which makes it difficult to keep him as a starter. He was on last night...and if he can just make it consistently passed the 6th inning, then that is a HUGE addition to the rotation. I know the Astros might look to get some rotation help later in the summer if the situation is right, but I realllly dont want McCullers to be a part of any deal. Kid is 21 years old and looks to have such a bright future. You cant throw that possibility away (along with 2 other high end prospects) for someone like Hamels. Hamels is absolutely solid, but if McCullers is pitching 3-3.50 ERA ball, then we've got the starter we were looking for.
I do. I thought the things he was saying about Julia were dumb but I thought the foul line joke was funny, hence redemption. Perhaps I should have just said good one.
Keuchal had Davis stuck out the pitch before he gave up rbi single. Balls and strikes calls are not consistent at all.
Damn, hate first inning runs....but this is the 7th inning comeback boys. Listening to Carter's 2 home runs on the MLB Must C video was great, hearing all of the Astros calls of the monster home runs and even the BAL calls. http://m.astros.mlb.com/news/article/128405034/astros-lance-mccullers-ks-11-os-in-complete-game
Gave Keuchel a bit of lee way there on a few of those. Still frustrating to watch. Kid K is on fire with the strike outs right now.
