Would love it if we could bring him off the bench with TY as our starter.

If true I wonder how Harden feels about this.

Is he really that good? It's a lot to bank on for a contender..

From what I remember he was the MVP of the Euroleague. If we get Ty Lawson and he agrees to split time then it's an easy decision to have that kind of talent come off the bench. Seriously, an MVP in Europe coming off our Houston bench?

People need to chill about Lawson AND Llull.

We should just be hoping this Llull deal is real and goes through firstly, a pipe dream of both Llull and Lawson is nice, but lets not get ahead of our selves. Llull isn't guaranteed at all and Lawson has barely been rumored a possible future rumor for god's sake.

Next thing, don't expect to get a whole lot for a whole little, getting Lawson without giving up multiple picks and talent like Dmo/Capela will be quite a feat for Morey.

    Good point.

I was under the impression that Ty Lawson was expressing his interest in leaving the Nuggets as they are putting themselves in a rebuild position (like adding D'antoni as their potential coach); Jones+Papa+draft pick+cash might be enough to persuade a deal. However, I have no idea how those front office negotiate.

I think throwing in cash would be good for declaring our "all in" status but I'm not sure how trading cash works in trades.

    You're right. Pure speculation.

I just think the line up I wrote out earlier would be be perfection in allowing us to take advantage of match ups. Very little weaknesses defensively and would contain playmaking of Harden/Llull (assuming he's good in the NBA), and Lawson.

Hustle and Grit would be found in Lawson, Beverley, and Brewer with the occasional appearance of Smith

Post annhilation with Dwight and Dmo.

48 minutes of quality rim protection with Howard and Capela

Floor stretching in Ariza, Beverley, Harden, Dmo, perhaps Brewer and Smith

Right now I look at the Warriors and I think they are successful by their complete team. I think we would complete our team with those two additional signings. All it would take is a trade for Lawson and the MLE for Sergio

When it comes to Llull, I'm biased, I don't want him to come over because then I'd have to learn how to pronounce Llull.

I just think I could happily live the rest of my life without that knowledge.

I'm thinking (if for no other reason than we have Bev and Brew's bird rights and Llull looks like he's coming over):

    Howard/Capela
    DMo/Jones
    Ariza/Brew
    Harden
    Llull/Bev

+Smoove if we can convince him to take the $2.5 mil non-bird tender.
+KJ if we can convince him to take the qualifying offer, or convince Llull to take less of the MLE

I really like the idea of having Ty Lawson on this team. I don't know if KJ can really do anything come playoff time and be a solid contributor.

I just figured with guys like Nick Johnson, Jones, and Papa that the Nuggets might bite on a three way trade and getting youthful guys on their roster and sending guys like Wilson Chandler, Jameer Nelson, or Randy Foye to another team. I don't know our draft pick situation but I'd give every last one within a reasonable stretch of time to make this happen.

Also, if we convinced Ty Lawson and Llull to come over and we lose Jones/Papa/KJ/Nick Johnson in a three way trade then I would say the Rockets HAVE to sign Scola for a minimum as insurance for Dmo in our truly championship caliber roster.

I haven't done any number or salary crunching but

    Lawson/Llull
    Harden/Beverley/Terry
    Howard/Capela
    Dmo/Smith/Scola
    Ariza/Brewer

That would be in-freaking-credible and I could imagine not winning it all with this squad.

Can Rubio be had for a MLE? I'm not even worried about shooting when it comes to the back up PG spot. Rubio could be an excellent contigency plan

Im with you. If Llull comes over for the mle the rockets should go after ty. First of all it will add too much flexibillity in rotations. But..unfortunately all of them will have one thing in common. One of the worst backcourt defences of the league. Harden must take a step forward in defence.

Btw nick johnson has almost zero trading value. And papa is little more than a filler. The nuggets have no need of cap space. (Unless they find someone to trade for Faried lol).
the value of the trade will come through picks (18# 32# 2016 no.1) and Jones. How many of those will be needed is a matter of how much in demand Lawson will be. But no less than two.
