He shot 73% last year and his highest career avg is 82%. For this team he needs to be in the 80-85% range especially playing PG. Trust me he has game where he looks like shaq at the ft line.

Yes yes..I didnt mean he cant recruit him like that. I meant there is no point because he is not a free agent now or even next summer. He has no choice but to play for whichever team he is signed with for two more seasons.

hes a very capable FT shooter. the way you make it sound he's pretty terrible and he's far from that. that's a non issue for lawson

I think you'v been spoiled watching Paul, Curry, Thompson and Harden in the playoffs. not everybody can be 85%+ free throw shooters. 73% isn't bad, it's not really good either, it's average. Plus that was his worse FT shooting season throughout his whole career, chances are he bounces up near his average next year, especially if he's on a new team, make that a contender.

It's obvious that Lawson was disgruntled with the Nuggets this year, team has chemistry issues, coaching issues, no winning and no future. His dip in his % this year probably has to due with his lack of focus and motivation on that nuggets team. If he gets traded to a contender, i'd fully expect his % to go back to the #'s for his prior 3 seasons.

3pt and FT for the last 3 seasons prior to this years for Lawson.

    37 & 82
    37 & 76
    36 & 80

He finished 98th in the top 100 in ft shooting in the nba. 32nd amongst PGs.

And what percentile does that place him in the NBA and amongst PGs? Did you know that out of the top 30 in FT shooting Harden is 26th? Shameful.

Try looking at Lawson's career FT shooting numbers and they're in a perfectly acceptable range.

Wtf, why are we talking about FT shooting? Lawson's defense should be the main concern

Lawson is enough of an upgrade offensively that I wouldn't even be worried about the defensive end. If we could swing a trade for Lawson, then retain Beverley as back-up PG, I'd be ECSTATIC.

This. If we were to land Lawson, bringing back Beverley would be a must to offset the defensive concerns.

Having said that...I'm all aboard the Ty Lawson bandwagon. He'd be a great fit.

In regards to Lawsons defense, you have to look what is there already.

Terry, who saw the bulk of the playoff minutes at PG was about as bad as you can get. Is Lawson going to make it that much worse?

What Lawson brings is a clear upgrade offensively, which would probably be more than enough to swing Game 1 and 2 of the WCF back in the Rockets favor.

Furthermore, if you trade for Lawson at the draft, you can keep Beverley and have a defensive minded PG available when needed.

Question is, would Beverley accept coming off the bench. His dilemma would be starting for a team like the 76ers or coming off the bench for Rockets. Keyword is pride.

Bev is going to want that $$$ if somebody is willing to pay. So I guess Bev is gone. To me Bev wasn't even healthy most of the season. He would have been better than Lawson maybe....
