Judging from the results, almost nobody is eager to trade Capela.

    At least not for Payne.

But if I could get a top 14 pick for him, I'd do it.

Rather have Jerian Grant from Notre Dame .... bigger body , better athlete who's played against proven talent and should still be available at #18 ....

Not totally against trading Capela but the deal has to be really good bringing back more than just an unproven rookie guard.
The rule of thumb in the NBA is never trade a big for a small ... unless that small is a vastly better player. While Payne may be a good one , Capela has shown great potential himself and done it on an NBA court.

Would still try to move Jones for a veteran big man , probably along with KPap and other spare parts.

If I am dealing Capela and #18, I better be clearing room for LMA/Love or Lowry better be coming over via trade.

The Rockets have a 2-3 year window with Howard and Ariza, I am not taking a rookie unless I am damn sure he is Lillard good or better.

Jerian Grant isn't a better athlete and he has serious defensive issues.

CC and 18 needs to get us into the top 8 imo. C is going to be a stud in 2 years.

He's much more explosive than Payne .... As for the defensive issues , I have to wonder if they are attributed to the system.

Just like THIS is a moot point... you really dislike Capela, hey?

Capela has so much up side, played great in the playoffs, and with Dwight's injury history, I don't want to be stuck with Dorsey.

    No, I think he ok.

I just don't think he's going to be great. I think he's overhyped. And I think there's a good chance his value never matriculates above where it is right now. I'm not sold he's going to be a superstar, etc. I think that's reaching. I think there's a fair chance that he underperforms for us next season when given the backup center role. He's still raw. That hasn't changed. And he really didn't play that much but was rather pressed into playing because Dorsey was so abysmal and we had so many injuries.

Without those things happening Capela dawdles around in RGV the whole season and we're all wondering if he can play.

So, I'd like to sell high on him. Especially if we can move up substantially in the draft and draft a kid that I think is going to be a legit superstar. I think we can find another backup center that's even better than him. And I don't think he's a superstar in waiting.

We'd be in a world of Payne if we do the proposed trade. Both literally and figuratively.

Capela is NOT an asset. Unless for a superstar haha. But on the real, we should keep him.

How does he compare to the 4th pick the past 5 years?

    Cody Zeller
    Dion Waiters
    Tristan Thompson
    Wesley Johnson
    Tyreke Evans

Just for the sake of discussion, what guys in that 12-15 range would you see as someone you'd rather have than Capela?
