I liked it when Morey picked up Lin as an emergency plan b. Once we got Harden though Lin needed to either perform or GTFO. He folded, engaged Beta-Mode and now will be fighting for a roster spot in the east. Good luck.

Stupid bump. The Rockets losing in the Western Conference Finals was disappointing but not nearly as much as Jeremy Lin's career. His fans are pathetic. Still holding grudges against Harden, McHale and the Rockets because your idol just isn't good enough. Might as well blame his former team for his arrested development. If you check the Lin fanboy forums it's clear that they watched every Rockets playoff game in hopes they'll see the team fail. There's always next season Lin fans! Linsanity lives!
A random thought popped in my mind that a Lin fanatic would bump this thread after a Rockets loss and Harden playing poorly. Just checked the Dish today, and of course it's true. Lin fanatics are insufferable.
Jerry Lin became ‘burned out’ by the 2014-15 season ... But once the 2014-15 season ended with the Lakers’ worst record in franchise history (21-61), Lin felt like a marathon runner gasping for his last breath as he crossed the finish line. “I felt pretty burnt out coming out of this past season,” Lin wrote in a recent blog post on his Web site. “I felt like I gave great effort to play well, play the right way, and maintain the right perspective despite seeing very little fruit. So when the season first ended I felt very…lazy. I know it’s natural to feel worn out after a long year, but I was surprised by how drained I felt and how little excitement I felt to start my off-season training.” Lin felt so drained that he reported taking 3 1/2 weeks off as soon as the season ended in mid-April. During that time, Lin did not touch a basketball. He did not work out. He did not start weighing his future once he becomes an unrestricted free agent in July. Instead, Lin relaxed. He healed his sore left knee that kept him sidelined for the last seven games. He traveled down to San Diego with a few friends on a fishing trip. Lin stayed away from basketball so he would fall in love with it again. And Lin reported he has, starting a new training regiment that he hopes leads him to a better year. ... Lin said at his exit meeting he has not ruled out returning to the Lakers. The Lakers have not, either. But there’s a strong sense that both the Lakers and Lin will only have a partnership if neither party can find a more attractive alternative. “I get discouraged, I get worn down, I get burnt out,” Lin wrote. “I have doubts, thoughts of giving up, and of not being good enough. But the beautiful part is that God comes through in His unique and perfect way every time!”
Maybe consider an early retirement and save us from having to deal with his delusional cult? One can hope.
I appreciate that Lin has always recognized that he's soft. He has thoughts of giving up and not being good enough? If this came from any other player he'd have trouble finding a job next year. I'm not sure why he'd admit that publicly.
I think the Hawks would be a great fit. They play team ball, seems like few egos on that team. Jerry would fit right in off the bench.
Ego isn't JLin's problem, it's bad handles and decision making, things he should've fixed by now if he was actually serious on improving his skills. As for the Hawks they are a tightly-run team that relies on crisp plays and pin point execution, with JLin's tendency to do head-in-the-sand moves that result in sloppy turnovers I expect he'll be in the dog house after the third time he jumped in the air with no one to pass to. Ironically, I think the best team for him is Houston, the Rockets are extremely undisciplined and if they can handle JSmoove's clanking 3s they can also work with JLin's sporadic bonehead moments. In fact when he played here he posted really good stats, esp. in the season we traded him before he got injured and worn down he was posting a blistering 0.60 TS%, it's too bad that his inconsistency lost the coaching team's trust....and his LOFs suck ass.
I agree with you about his handles but egos are also part of his problem. He defers to anyone that has an ego, even if they suck. He has zero confidence. That has nothing to do with his skills, it's just an attitude.
He signed a contract that he could not play up to 3 years ago. It is sad but nowadays people gauged a player performance by the money he earned. At the right price, every team is the right team to Lin. If I were Lin, I would ask for a low price, short term contract with player option at the end and hopefully one of the teams with better player development track records would consider signing him. Start from scratch, play for the next contract.
