Game of Thrones is older, so Walking Dead is essentially Game of Thrones without knights and kings.

Why do the White Walkers want conquer South of the The Wall? The dead don't eat or farm or procreate. They have to live in the cold anyway.

Jon promised the Wildings good farmland South of the wall, how do you farm in Winter?

Other than the giant, most of the best and bravest Wildling fighters died on that beach. Now John is left with with a bunch of refugees who probably don't know how to farm.

Was Craster considered a wildling who allied with the Crows? Or was he just some crazy guy from south of the wall that wanted to live there? Either way, I would think the regular wildlings would've killed him for it.

The Night's King's intentions aren't very clear. Up to this point, I would've said that the Others only cared about destroying humanity. But their leader probably has more in-depth reasons that have yet to be revealed.

You don't farm in winter. You farm to prepare for winter. The hope for them is that their assistance will help defeat the Others and they'll live long enough to be able to use the land for farming.

The appeal for the Free Folk is that they get to be on the other side of the wall. At this point, no one (except for Bran) wants to be on the same side of the wall as the Others. Putting a giant wall between you and imminent destruction seems appealing to me.

Because they are Evil. Magically Evil. And what's the point of being an evil, undead ice-demon if you can't slaughter the living and create new slaves for yourself?

Also, we don't necessarily know that they don't eat or farm. They do procreate, apparently, but it requires human babies as offerings. Plenty of 'em down south.

And yeah, I'm as surprised as all of you that we haven't seen any White Walker t*** yet. But I'm sure Ramsay will get around to stripping, humiliating and flay-raping one just as soon as he peels the skin off of Stannis' daughter next week.

They have to have a sympathetic motivation. I think the White Walkers built the wall and also have some connection to Bran's tree cult guy, hence their presence near the lair. I think they've attacked the Wildlings and Rangers in the past for invading their territory.

Obviously they are on the opposite side of the Red Witch. I can see Jon Snow making an alliance with them or becoming their leader (by killing their leader) at some point. Jon Snow v Daenerys/Red Witch/whoever else loves fire.

There is a little bit of validity to the whole "everything is zombies" comment. Yes, knew about the White Walkers. And even think it was obvious that much of the "army" would be walking dead.. .the wights I guess they're call ... but still it is interesting how much story often returns to the dead rising again concept. Even this random made up fantasy, where you have these super powerful seemingly White Walker thingies, and the author could make up any other crap he wants, it still has that zombie component.

Anyway, the episode was awesome. No need to really say more. If there was one complaint, which is minor, is I had no clue what was going on with the rowboat at the end. So they weren't even rowing? And the wights and White Walkers can't cross 20 feet of water? Seems like an obvious answer, then... build a moat.

As for the rest of the season, the religious overlays are the most annoying. The Lady of Light or whatever her name is was annoying enough - boobies aside. Now we have her, the Many Faced God, the Harpies, the Sparrow or whatever. It's all religion now... and Dany's story-line has indeed been boring.

They are sure trying to foreshadow Jon Snow's death. I hope that doesn't happen. I, like most of you, was finally awakened this season with this episode. I've enjoyed the season so far, but this episode was very strong. I'm rarely immersed in any TV honestly, but I was glued to the screen this time. I thought this before the Walkers showed up. I like action, but I could have done without all the shaky cam shots.

I think I had the same look on my face as the white walker when Jon's sword didn't shatter. :O I thought the foreshadowing of Jon's death was being fulfilled, then they flipped the script when the Valyrian steel sword was able to kill the white walker.

The creepy undead children scene was great! Acted out perfectly by the actress to still seeing them as children and couldn't attack them and just accept her fate.

White Walkers in episode 1 let that one night's watch member go free just to send a message. Maybe they were doing something similar. pretty much sending a message they cannot be stopped. If you're the White Walker king and you just slaughtered all those people would you really be worried about a few ships that got away? His arms are raised and he is practically telling john Snow, checkmate b****.

Everytime I see Dany, all I can think of is this:

She is sooooo damn annoying. The way she talks, she always seems to be staring off into space. Then when she tries to sound hard with her "badass" lines, it just comes off corny as hell.

I'm just curious to see how the rest of the Kingdoms will react when they hear about the battle of Hardhome. Will they finally believe the threat is real, and quit being haters, and doubters? I wanna see if they show the word being spread across Westeros, and the other kingdom's reactions.

i think the author's point is the world is focused on petty shet like sex, money, and power and other stuff when the real stuff like good vs evil or light vs dark or hot vs cold is being ignored. a lot of ppl already got crows from the north that the others are coming with dead ppl army but folks around the world seem to laugh or think the reports are BS. their blinded by the day to day stuff like which family is on top.

Of course the cool badass wildling lady chief freezes up at the sight of undead kids and gets killed.

It's so deep and symbolic of a woman's role of motherhood and her maternal instincts.

Bravo HBO, bravo. Ten thumbs up.

I would rather watch Dragons, spiders, other creatures and critters than another White Walking Dead series.

I am not sure if that is correct. When Mormont and Tyrion embarked to see Daenerys they encountered the Stone people.

Right before that a massive dragon flew over them. And I do not think it was Drogon the black dragon as this one was a full grown one.

it had to be Drogon, the only 3 dragons in the world are those birthed by Daenerys.....that's why it was such a big deal. There hadn't been any dragons for hundreds of years, they've said that many times.

pretending like GoT is anything like Walking Dead is ridiculous. GoT is about the machinations of multiple houses and individuals to achieve what they want. The zombies just provide context for how short-sided each of the players is being.

Also Walking Dead has **** writing, acting, directing (pretty much its total ****).
