I agree, and it's why I've put myself in the Llull camp. If we can get him for nothing more than the majority of the MLE, then he makes more sense then giving up the farm for Lowry, Lawson, etc., all of whom will require picks, young players and salary. Keep Capela/DMo/McDaniels/NOP 1st/NYK 2nd to build around or move for a bigger fish later on.
I think it depends on the opportunities to acquire PGs. If nothing is avaliable, you give the MLE to Lull and that's your guard help. If you can acquire a Dragic/Lowry/Lawson type player, you go for it with lots of assets. Have to read the situation and react appropriately.
And experienced PG is better than anything available in a draft. It's win now. Let's hope Lull pans out because he is probably it.
McHale just confirmed on 790 that landing Llull would be huge for the Rockets. They are absolutely trying to get him here.
UGH. I must've closed out of it RIGHT before he came on. Sat here for 20 minutes and got tired of waiting.
He also said something along the line of "if pat goes somewhere, we can't magically fill his spot with no cap," makes me feel that we either match or work out a SNT.
Man. I don't disagree that we need shooting, but I don't see Seth Curry as the guy. He shot it well in the d-league, but so did Daniels/Canaan and they couldn't cut it with this squad. If you want a shooter that can't defend, we should at least go for Jimmer, but even he is a big reach (and shot 18% this year which blew my mind, even with a small sample size). A good shooter would thrive in this system next to Harden so one of those guys like Seth or Jimmer is worth a punt at the vet min, but certainly not the answer or someone you can count on to produce.
The fit is obvious and the need very real. I imagine publicly stated this is an effort to make him feel wanted.
False dilemma. Nobody said anything about strangling Harden's game. In fact, the Beard did really well when Lin was running the team and we were dropping 120+ points on the best defenses. You just proved that you know nothing about the Lakers this year. So they deliberately strangled the game of their best player (Lin). Much as the Rox did. But when for some odd reason they actually allowed Lin to play his game, he went Linsanity. After Lin won a few games, the Lakers panicked. Their tank was in jeopardy! So Byron Scott ordered Lin to stop the pick and rolls. The Lakers didn't want no stinkin' wins.
Hmmm.... somehow a sentence disappeared. Let me try again. You just proved that you know nothing about the Lakers this year. The team wanted to lose. Do you understand now?
I think everyone understands. You really should just ignore those people who don't get it, and stop posting.
The Clippers' offense was not nearly as good as ours was when Lin was running it. Do you realize what it means to consistently and easily drop 120+ points on the best defenses? Yes, we did it easily, because Lin and Harden were able to leave the games early. Had they played their normal minutes, we might be looking at 140+ points per game, not merely 120 -- against the best defenses. And we threw it away. How stupid was that? Furthermore, by "championship" I made it quite clear that I meant this year's Rockets team, with Lin the playmaker. Imagine an offense that routinely scores 120+ points a game. And a defense with Dwight, Josh, Ariza, Brewer. There is no question in my mind that this would have been our year -- if Lin were running the team. And we threw it away. First by strangling Lin's game, then by throwing him off the team.
What do you hope to achieve in this thread? Let it go. Perhaps no one cares about how Lin has played this year and whatever you say won't change people 's perception. Just let the boy play his game. nothing we said on this forum carries any weight.
If Lin is only one strangling coach away from returning to Linsanity then he must have too many suitors thus sunmer. The Rockets cant afford him. I think we should all lower our expectations and move away from Lin.
He is not player maker but does a decent job penetrating. I do not think he is an upgrade over Bev, all things considered.
