Why would Bev be mad? Seriously?

This is a unprecented circumstnce because the competition for a fa whether it is rfa or ufa will be enormous, since every single team will have cap space. That coupled with the fact that the salary floor will rise next year and the year after means that this mpney WILL have to be spent.
And it wont be so bad value esp if its a rfa who is usually young with some upside left.

i would agree with all this, except the fact that a big man who doesn't secure the rebounds he's supposed to is a big red flag for GM's. and this offseason especially, it's going to be difficult for dmo to be in the weight room and get stronger due to his injury recovery. so if he's not able to noticably improve his stats upon last season, GM's will be even less hesitant to overpay for potential. they'll want to see a steady progression to justify paying for what they feel he can grow into (a max level player).

Its more hard to find : a)playmaking big b) versatile big c) 7 footer who posts up d) good team defender that finding a rebounding big.
Check this offseason and find out how hesitant they will be to give out mx contracts like candies. And its only the beggining.

How do you watch the pathetic performance by Rondo last year and think "I want him on my team?"

I think every single person who knows anything about the Houston Rockets knows that we need a secondary playmaker.

Harden recognizing his limit is definitely a good thing. He should focus on his main thing, which is scoring the ball. Let a real PG handle the ball. Defensively he should also take more responsibility guarding his own man. Can't rely on others esp the PG and center to cover for you.

I think this playoff experience is good for Harden and for us if he learned from it and grew a little bit.

If we had a guard that didn't turn the ball over, played good defense and handled the ball the majority of the time, it would be a HUGE upgrade!!
Someone like Mike Conley is perfect.
Problem is there isn't any available in free agency, just Reggie Jackson who is my top pick and Brandon Knight, but both are restricted and likely to be matched. Goran, but I wouldn't want that troll.
So unless we trade for like a Ty lawson, I think we are sticking with Bev, and drafting a PG.

A guy to look at as a potential trade target is Jose Calderon... he's a good play-maker, good shooter, and experienced. He could also, possibly, be had for cheap considering the Knicks are likely to draft a PG with their 4th overall pick.

Lowry and Conley would be the best fit, but both seem unattainable. Lawson appears to be on the market and would be an upgrade, though doesn't bring a whole lot defenisvely. Darren Collison would be an ideal backup PG, but I think he wants to start. The league is littered talented point guards, so I'm kind of glad that is our position of need. I'm sure Morey can find something by the start of next season.

ok i agree with this completely, i just think it's too much of a liability for your bigs not to secure the defensive rebounds they're expected to. all the other great skills become diminshed if you can't keep the guy on the floor because he's giving up offensive rebs. add to this that dmo has no playoff experience thus far, and will not be able to improve this offseason because of the injury, and i see him potentially getting a big double figure per year contract, but not the MAX

Hes expensive and has 3 more years. Hes old and doesnt play ANY defence. The knicks wil be lucky if they can dump him somewhere with only giving away hardway jr. Mostlikely they will eat his contract.
