There is no way you can call Dwight Howard soft after watching him BATTLE against Tyson Chandler, DeAndre Jordan and Andrew Bogut in 3 straight series, while at the same time racking up double/doubles and leading the NBA in rebounding in the playoffs. C'mon!

Ouch! That is brutal! But what the hey? He set himself up for this stuff with his comments after the game. He fired the first shot and handed all of the folks who don't believe in him a golden opportunity to shoot back. Some things are better left unsaid.

I always find it funny when the media disrespects D12 because not once have I seen them say something negative directly to his face

Take his appearance on SportNation earlier this year, those guys rip him a new one every chance they get on a daily basis...Then Howard appears on the show and they're all buddy buddy...You'd think through out all of the criticism he has taken over the years someone would have had the fortitude to put him on the hot seat for whatever ridiculous claim or narrative they want to run with

People are already forgetting that Howard was injured in Game 1 and really didn't look the same the rest of the series. Bogut is a technically sound center but given what Howard did to chandler and Jordan one would surmise that if he was equally healthy against GS that he would have found a way to come out on top.

The best thing Dwight can do is just embrace being a villain. Screw everyone, and if they wanna call him unlikeable then give them a reason to.

Howard sets himself up for being attacked with comments like this. He's not a champion. He can say in his heart he is and he works hard to be and believes it will come. But it is a bit ridiculous to say and you're going to get made fun of for it.

And I find it very sad how some "old school" Rockets fans disrespect him on this very forum. Win or lose, he's still our guy and he is trying the hardest.

Not a knock on you, I just wanted to point out media is not the only one who disrespect him.

True, I feel you...There has been a serious amount of hate against both him and Harden recently, but that unfortunately comes with losing...Some people just want to focus on their flaws despite their overall fantastic play in the Playoffs and our run to the WCF...I don't do it personally, but venting is understandable to an extent after getting so close to the ultimate goal

I think a lot of the Dwight criticism and "hate" as it were is extremely similar to what Lebron got before going to Miami and after that first season when they lost to Dallas in the finals.

Hopefully, after this year, he and James and put it all together this summer, stay healthy and come back next season greater.
