    Right on the money.

When things are rolling, James is on point.

When things are bumpy, James opens up a huge can of quit.

I can forgive many mistakes and shortcomings, but lack of effort is simply not one of them.

I think Howard was not talking about Harden. I think it was more about bench players than Harden. I suspect Howard has the same opinion about TJ that we do. That may have been one of the reasons he lobbied for Smith when he was placed on waivers.

What a disgraceful post from a Houston fan. You and DD should be banned. Dwight wanted so bad to be the next Hakeem, but right before the playoffs he accepted his role of a P&R guy, scoring off of putbacks, and yet you bash him for not accepting his role? Lol what a douchebag.

Howard was the only guy who brought it all each and every game and he has every right to say what he said.

So I guess let's ship out Capella and Smith too, since they can't hit their free throws. Smh...

I don't think it was about Harden. I think it was more about Jones.

I also find many of the responses of this thread ironic.
When cyber a legit insider came with some info about a possible rift everyone attacked him. Accused him of lying and creating chaos.
Now everyone is ready to jump in and pile on Harden.

considering that the average nba player just enters his prime at 25-26 yes.
It's not guaranteed however. Nothing is guaranteed.

He's right about Dwight getting easily rattled. Him losing his cool so often added to the team's problems and could have been worse if he had been ejected for tonight. The defenders he faced were fouling the crap out of him but he would inevitably over-retaliate and the refs would see that because Bogut, Jordan and Chandler are good at selling any contact from Dwight.

    spot on.

imo mental toughness is sth. you either have or dont. very rarely does it have to do with age.

For real. This has been one of the most incredible, fun seasons I've had as a Rockets fan. Can't understand the negativity right now, especially directed at Harden.

I like the "good fans" that come out with one sentence posts calling out the fans who are venting after the season is over. Let those fans vent and get off your high horse. Annoying as hell.

Agreed. Like back in 07 when LeBron went on that tear against Detroit in the ECF. He single handily brought his team to the Finals at 22 against a great Spurs team. That's why I never understood the hate he got years later with people calling him a mental midget. He wasn't that.

Agree... definitely couldn't have convinced me we'd have been here in October.

Yes, that's Dwight's weakness. As are turnovers and taking plays off, especially on defense, Harden's. But does that mean we have to crucify a player? Especially the one who showed most heart and fight through playoffs?

Yes Harden led us to a 2nd seed, but that means nothing if he keeps disappearing when teammates need him the most. LAC comeback, G3 against GSW...
So if we somehow end 1st seed next year with Harden winning MVP and then lose in semifinals because Harden took some games off, will this board still stick up for him and fault others for our lack of playoff success?

I think it's fueled by that feeling of being so close. Closer than we've been in some time. Things will settle eventually but until then just have to realize emotions are still high.

He just seemed timid at times, right? Like if he got blocked or missed a couple threes he pretty much didn't want to try again
