To me when this happens to the greats they get back to the fundamentals. Rebounding, defense, off ball movement, make safe passes. Right now he doesnt feed off of these things and i feel other greats do. He still has time to get it though.

and you think that without Harden the Rockets would even have the 6th seed??? So Harden only gave a couple of wins? That's what you say?

And the guy had a bad game. Last game he had 40 points. Almost won the first two because of how well HE played. So yes I think you judge him only from this game and I think it is because you don't like him. You said so yourself.
It's fine if you don't like your own teams' franchise player. But to hold against him the effort? He's the backbone of the team.

Reminds of me of Howard in the 2010 playoffs, Eastern Conference finals vs Boston. 2-4

i dont like the guy because i feel he lacks drive. not the other way around. let me make that clear.

and i think you forgot one thing: bball is a team sport, unlike tennis or golf.

if you can say harden has won XX for us (not that i agree w/ this) on his own, then on the same token, it's certainly safe to say tonight he ended our season right there. no?

superstardom is not judged only on performance. Is Bosh a superstar? He won multiple championships. As one of the stars of his team.

Melo has never been a superstar you need to raise your standards.

ok then by YOUR standards there is only a single superstar in the whole league. Lebron. Noone else.

stern wanted to artificially create a lebron-melo competition back then. melo was never up to that.

never for a single season did i consider him a superstar. there's no way.

Actually there are only a few.

    Lebron
    Curry
    Durant - when healthy

    Borderline:

    Harden
    Davis
    Westbrook

    Everyone else.

I consider all of them superstars, but by your standards none of them should be considered one since they got no titles, except Lebron.

Btw glad you included Harden. That was the point. You can be a superstar without defence.

He's a very nice hard working kid who has already decided he wants to be the best ever. in history.
If he won't be mvp it will be only because of injuries *knock on wood*
From next year if all goes well he will be one of the most serious candidates.

I so want to include Harden, but if he doesn't play even a little defense, then he is not.

    I would trade Harden for:

    Lebron
    Durant (if health)
    Curry
    Davis
