I disagree. You can be a superstar without defence. Carmelo i.e
But you won't be a superstar who WINS.

I definitely noticed Howard refusing to give the outlet pass to Harden even when he was opened standing right there.. He turned the ball over before he would give it to Harden. Something is definitely wrong between them two (as cyberx stated)

Probably because Harden was dogsh-t from almost the opening tip. Aside from the 7 free throws in the first quarter, he was turning the ball over, missing shots, and not looking to be aggressive at all. I do think Josh Smith was taking way too many shots, but Harden was deferring to him too often. Harden could demand the ball if he wanted, but he refused.

Carmelo is NOT a Superstar player.

Harden needs to focus on his man, stop peaking and losing his man - he is terrible on defense, unacceptable.

BTW - Howard is not much better, his blocking out is borderline lazy.

Lots of blame to go around, IMO.

Wasn't this the point where the whole team was ignoring Harden because he was playing so bad? I remember Terry putting the team on his back and ignoring Harden calling for the ball lol.

who dwight was referring to, i have no idea.

but to say harden gives his all is far from the truth. the guy takes plays or even a game off far too often. i still question his drive.

He did give up on alot of plays though defensively, you just cant do that nevermind his offense he cannot let his lack of scoring affect the way he competes on defense. To me that comes down to effort.

Disagree. Carmelo at the least had been a superstar. Maybe not now with a team in last place in the weak ass east and with one knee but he was. Without defence.

Agree with the rest. It's all effort for Harden. He can do it if he wanted.

This was going on before that, like the 2nd quarter I think. I think there's definitely problems between them

When you play that badly in front of all that pressure you develop tunnel vision and you zone out. Have you ever been in a situation where you thought you were in a nightmare or were dreading something like a layoff or flunking a class/final? Same feeling.

I'm convinced you need to be a narcissistic egomaniac to succeed in the sports world.

Last (non) shot of game 2 makes so much more sense after witnessing mr. Harden turnovers tonight.

how can you say this? ...some people here have a memory that spans only one game away. If it wasn't for Harden bleeding on the court every single game and getting hits the Rockets wouldn't even be in second seed.
So he had an awful game. Does it mean he doesn't fight? Are we seriously gonna judge players by their last game?

To me Melo had twice the offensive game harden has but i agree his defense kept him from being a true superstar.

harden needs to realize not a lot of teams get to the conf. finals often. for us its been 18yrs, and for these worriors its 4 decades. so better make the most out it while you're at it. only one team wins it all each yr.

Does Harden even want to be here? Does he like being a Rocket? I get the feeling he'll end up somewhere else in the next couple of years. Seems like he'd want to be in a flashier more celebrity driven city than Houston given his penchant for partying and the hip-hop lifestyle he leads.

Second seed would be a longshot. We wouldn't even be in the playoffs without Harden

Carmelo is one of the most known players in usa and internationally. Walk in the street and stop two people who don't watch any basketball and tell them to name three players who play now. Chances are it will be Kobe Lebron and Carmelo.
Superstardom is not only achieved by winning championship. He was/is a superstar.

did he look like he went all out tonight? maybe our eyes are different, but it certainly didnt look like it to me. plus, i am not judging him only by tonight's game.

and fyi, the #2 to #6 seed in the west this yr had almost identical records. so #2 seed wasnt as big of a deal as some might think.
