We have struggled guarding the PF position for as long as I can remember until we got Josh Smith

    Trade Jones, keep Smith

Smith is our only answer for the Zach Randolphs of the league

Smoove is one of those players like Maxwell. He could be 0-20 but you want him in the game during the comeback. He could go off at any time. Not sure why Mchale didn't put him in. He's the only one that hit any threes today. I woulda put him in for Harden today. He must have been hungover..

or he bet on the warriors. How else can you explain the last 3 plays. keep in mind the line was warriors -10.5...
    1. Dribble ball off your foot.
    2. Dont foul for 20 seconds then foul curry shooting a three.
    3. Don't even attempt a last shot.

Did jones do anything positive today?

Smith is so streaky I still can't decide if I want him back. He certainly shouldn't be a starter, need more stability at the starting PF position.

Is Josh Smith really a streaky shooter though? Through out his career, he is consistently bad at long 2s and 3s but for some reason always love to take those shots. Sure, he might get lucky every once in a while like in game 4 but seems to me something more in line with today's 2 for 7 performance from the 3 is the Josh Smith you should expect.

    His FG% last 10 games:

    .214
    .875
    .429
    .294
    .375
    .600
    .556
    .571
    .000
    .300

If that's not streaky idk what is. Also, his TO's:

    0
    6
    4
    1
    3
    1
    0
    2
    2
    2

He has these games where he just self-destructs with the turnovers.

These decimals reveal the true problem. He is shooting way too much. I should be looking at decimals that come from fractions in eighths or tenths. Not from fifteenths or sixteenths. Notice that the high shooting percentage nights come from when he doesn't take as many shots. Take the smart ones Josh.

Or you can be smart and keep both since it isn't against the NBA rules to do so.

With DMO is back, he is expandable. We need a system, not on-off brilliance, not a recipe for getting it done in June.

McHale needs to have a quicker hook on Smith
If he goes 1-6 . .. pull him to the side line and chew him out

just don't let him shoot 14 times before you yank him
and when you yank him don't bench him for the whole game
