Harden is either on drugs or he played sick.

Dwights days of being a star are over. He simply doesn't have an offensive game anymore to want the ball in the post. I 100 % agree about McHale but we all know he will be back. Hopefully we land a PG

Definitely not giving up on harden. Just sucks he had one of the worst games ever tonight. Hopefully rockets can pick up a pg to help relieve harden of backcourt dutiies

I was so pissed when we were within 2 mid-3rd and McHale went to the hack-a strategy.. just wow. Of course Ezeli made both free throws and there was a huge momentum swing.

I think Harden is just exhausted.

This is a dumb place to start this debate, but I really think the NBA should go to ~62 game seasons.

Yea, can't argue the record, but McHale is still the same old.

He's the definition of reaction, hours to days later.

In this game, there were a number of times the Rockets seems to be on a cusp for a run and each time that was about to happen, Kerr called timeout. His team focus and instead of a Rocket's run, we get a Warriors run. Just based on those simple TOs you can see that he's got a good feel for the game, something McHale seems to lack completely.

I wonder how a 62 game season would change the injury likeliness. Not a bad idea in my eyes

    Yep.

This should be the last season of that learning and growing from this narrative for A
Harden. A lot of differences between those players and Harden. When Harden first played in the Finals in 2012 ar the age of 22, he choked. Meanwhile, his other two teammates played well. I highly doubt WB or KD put up a performance like Harden tonight.

There is just something off and I hope Harden fixes it next postseason. Either that, or the Rockets can mask Harden's flaws by putting out another playmaker and bringing in players with heart to surround Harden with.

Not a McHale fan by any stretch(although he's absolutely earned another season as head coach), but I take issue with these points you made. Dwight probably does want a bigger role, but I don't trust him in the post. He never kicks the ball out to the open shooter. He's not a great finisher at the rim unless it's a dunk. And he's a horrible foul shooter. No offense, but if D-Mo never got hurt, Dwight probably would've gotten almost no postup plays called for him.

As for Harden's turnovers, is that on McHale for not using Harden properly or is it on Morey for ignoring the glaring hole at PG for years? And don't give me any excuses about Bev being hurt. Patrick Beverley is not a PG. You are not going to compete for a title with him as your starter at that position. The Rockets needed a 2nd playmaker all season long. Everyone knew this. I understand Morey wanted Dragic for months and Goran managed to torpedo that trade by opening his big mouth about refusing to resign here and demanding a max extension. But there are other PG's available out there. Hell, 6 of them were dealt on the day of the trade deadline. And we wound up with Pepperoni(while dealing away Canaan).

Again, I'm definitely not a McHale apologist. But the roster has some deficiencies that can't all be chalked up to injuries. That's on Morey to address them. And first and foremost must be the PG spot. If the Rockets roster opening night this October features Bev as the starter, then it's clear Morey has no clue what he's doing and the heat should be on him more than McHale.

Getting your ass kicked because your team sucks like Hakeem (pre-clutch), Kobe (post-Shaq), and Shaq (pre-Kobe) did is a completely different circumstance than actually being the reason your good team got its ass kicked.

Find me a playoffs where a GOAT guy like the ones you list had two performances like Harden did (tonight and game 6 @ LAC). In elimination games, no less. Please, I beg of you. Because right now, James seemingly stands alone in that corner of shame.

It's true. 82 games is far too many for a season. 62 is enough. They run players into the ground with 82.
