Agreed. Even though Clyde helped deliver a 2nd title, I'd still rank Harden's 3 years with the Rockets over Clyde's 3 1/2. But there's no comparison to the overall career including his time with the Blazers.
Hope you don't start hating Harden just because he hasn't won a championship like Drexler because that will break you here.
I'm not mad, I just thought you wanted to talk about the Rockets. Of course we can have other discussions. Harden will never surpass Drexler at dunking.
undecided for me…..clyde came over at the end of his career, when he couldn't carry a team on his back anymore as consistently as harden has done this past season……but clyde was probably a more skilled player by that time in his career. his length and explosiveness allowed him to play above the rim and in the post far better than james, as well as being able to rise up above the defense for a shot anytime he wanted. his speed in transition was far superior. defensively he was longer and paid more attention. and he was a better post entry passer, although james is probably a better overall passer. if james continues developing on the same path and eventually gets to the finals as a rocket, then he'll be the clearly ahead of clyde.
Tinman being Tinman. Someone started a Thread that included T-Mac so Tinman counters with this type of thread. That's what he do Sweet Lou
Harden is more important to the Rockets now than Drexler ever was to the Rockets. Drexler was an integral piece but he still was Robin to Hakeem's Batman. Drexler to the city of Houston though is still more important. He's a hometown hero who took this city to the brink of a championship once in College, then Hakeem was Robin to Clyde's Batman, and then came back to get the Rockets over the top for Clutch City two. Finally settling down to club seals as a color commentator.
Considering that your thread about Drexler on the Rockets has pictures of him playing for Portland, you just answered your own question.
Clyde was apparently 2 inches taller than James at 6'7", but those pictures really do make a point about how high The Glide could get up there. Damn. It's not even close between the two. No disrespect to Harden. He actually weighs 10 more pounds than Clyde did. If Harden's nickname was based on his style of play he'd be The Tank or The Missile or, my favorite, which I just came up with while still pretty tired: The James Harden Collider.
