Sources: Some issues between Harden and Howard (don't hang out anymore)

See this is why you don't critize cyberx, dude always knows the info and is kind enough to share with us without riddles, he will even make a thread for big news, dude doesn't get paid to post here.

 

I don't know Amir's Johnson's post history but many here regard him as a legit insider.
So this serves as another confirmation to me, and some more details that explain why Cyber may have posted it right now.

I think it's because of Josh Smith. Smith and Howard being close again probably changes Howard's views a bit.

 

This news (or rumor perhaps, though cyberx's history here doesn't give me any reason to doubt him) doesn't surprise me in the least. I've been harping all season that there is no discernible chemistry between Harden and Howard. They are two great players whose strengths and weaknesses don't mesh well, and that could easily lead one or both to lose respect for the other. I can easily see Harden thinking "if this guy didn't expect all these useless post up touches and miss all his free throws, we'd be winning everything." Meanwhile, Dwight is thinking "if that guy didn't dominate the ball so much and actually played decent defense, we'd be winning everything."

A great coach like Phil Jackson or Poppavich might have been able to bring them to common ground, but McHale doesn't strike me as a master psychologist and might not even grasp the disconnect that has occurred between the two (at least until now). Maybe a stronger veteran presence could help, but given that we already have that in two legit championship players (Terry and Ariza - Brewer too although he didn't really do much for that Mavs team), I'm not sure who else we could add to help the situation.

Bottom line - management needs to be watching this closely and evaluating not only whether these two can work together, but also whether either shows signs of being a perpetual locker room problem. The worst thing to do would be to ignore this, because it can completely poison a team's ability to function and once word gets out that one or both players are problems, their trade value can diminish significantly. Just look what happened to us when the Barkely-Pippen feud went public - we ended up trading Pippen for spare parts that left us floundering for years.

But it seems that most here want to sweep everything they don't like quickly under the rug instead of considering the very real possible consequences and the measurements that should be taken.

Disagreements and not being friends is one thing, fights in practices and turning the team against each other is another.

Their strengths mesh fine, the issue is that Dwight doesn't play to his strengths, he insists on posting up despite being really really bad at it.

He wastes half a dozen plays a game with that bs, and i really do mean wastes, it pisses me off and i'm not the one having to deal with it directly.

 

This is GOOD. Because there's no way we can win with guys who can not shoot freethrows.

I'll take Dwight's work ethic over a lot of players.

Both players are competitive and I don't deny that things could have been heated at points. That happens a lot more than y'all think. It happens in pick up ball with friends. Only someone that hasn't played ball would think something of this tbh

 

Who would hang out with Dwight? He seems annoying af. Good basketball player though.
