What do the watch buying experts recommend for the best value watch in the $125-200 Range ?

I don't know as much about watches as I'd like to, but I've had a couple of Citizen Eco-Drives that never had a problem, and there's no battery to change. The first one worked perfectly for 15+ years until I broke the face.

That that price it really just comes down to the look you want. You aren't going to get a great watch, but most will last a few years. I have about 10 watches in that price range, most of which are Diesel and Kenneth Cole, and I've liked all of them.

Also, are you looking for dress, casual or sport?

I second Citizen Eco Drive. Seiko's solar watch would also be good.

I have a Seiko solar that my wife bought me for Christmas several years ago. People compliment it all the time. It has a classic look, a nice weight to it, but it's not too bulky like some of the flashier pieces that are popular. I wear it just about daily and it looks brand new.

I left my nice watches at one-night-stands' places during a rough patch.

I recommend Citizen watches. Make sure you get a normal sized face. There are a lot of gaudy giant watches being made these days. Giant watches look meh on women and terrible on men.

I believe so. Not to unusual at this price point. I think the Orient Blue Ray has solid end link at about the same price range.

Seiko, citizen, or bulova in that price range. You'll get a decent looking watch that'll last you 10-15 years if you take care of it. The solar technology has vastly improved over the past few years and the japanese quartz movements are reliable. Not great quality in the components but they'll look nice and that's a good price to start your collection.

Will this watch be worn everyday? I am a 'lazy' watch wearer. I have a Seiko Orange Monster automatic that I hardly wear. It's a nice watch, but I find it to be too heavy (and gaudy) to be worn everyday. Then I ended up wearing it very very rarely because it's always stopped when I want to leave the house.

So currently my current everyday watch is a Citizen AT4010 Eco-drive titanium with atomic clock radio. It's the ultimate lazy person's watch. It auto sets itself everyday to the radio time, so both time and date are perfect every day, even on daylight savings days. It's currently $500 on amazon, but you can find it for about $350 on amazon when it's on sale. There is a stainless steel version for cheaper.

A cheaper alternative that I really like is the Citizen BL5250

Honestly, watches are just fashion accessories. Most of them are already super dependable, especially if it's quartz. In my opinion, by far the the number one thing is to get something with a style that you love.

he's not likely to find one for $150. the retail to simply service a tag is $165 and that doesn't include refurbishing.

I have one of these personally and i really like it. Smartwatches aren't fully there yet in terms of functionality but i can still text off it, look things up, find my phone (so useful), play music from it etc.

Also the watch faces are customizable so you can always sport a new face whenever you feel the desire to. For the best range it requires buying an app (watchmaker or Facer) but its a worthy investment and only a few dollars.

If you're interested also look at the moto 360 or the lg g watch urbane (the newer model of my watch)
