Well, since my experience with teen targeted music is limited to the 30 minutes I drive my daughter to school, basketball practices, and basketball games, I am not all that experienced with that genre, but based on that sample, I would say Katy Perry, Adele, Beyonce, Shakira, Lorde, Rihanna and Sia would be at least a few female singers I can readily identify and prefer. Expanding to the list of male singers, I'd add Bruno Mars, Pitbull, Ed Sheeran, and Sam Smith. I find Taylor Swift music to just be one step up from Arianna Grande and Meghan Trainor. Throw in some pop culture icons (eg Starbucks) in as a lyric and push the pap out to the masses. Boring. What makes Swift worse was her efforts to be a "country" singer with pop songs, then making the move to whatever the mess she currently sings. Yawn.
I'm saying it's extremely obvious they're faking the votes in the top positions, so I don't understand why people discuss these and act like actual and unbiased people voted in a representative way. No need to be an ass.
I don't care what everyone else says but I would wife her in a freakin heartbeat. I don't care what her music sounds like. She is gorgeous.
Milla Jovavich. I think Swift's appeal is because of her innocence, and the fact that she does a lot of great things for her fans, she's an actual musician and writes her own music. Basically she's the anti-Miley. Even with someone like Katy Perry, who pulls a crazy a little too often, Swift never seems to have a bad picture taken or social faux pas. I think she's far from the hottest chick in the world, but I understand the appeal.
I agree. You might not like that kind of music but at least she does it on her own. Katy likes to go for the sex appeal but taylor seems to keep it classy san diego. She doesn't annoy me near as much as the other pop stars who try to be risky for the sake of being risky while having songs made for them...rhiana, miley, etc. Swift isn't skanky hot but she is very prettyand seems to have perfect skin...it's almost creepily perfect.
She is the biggest pop star in world at this moment. Whatever you want think about her she knows how to sell records. None of the other people you mentioned even come close to her record sales. She cleared a million records in a week. That unheard of in today's market.
I think she is the JJ Watt of pop music. The poster girl for "how to do it right," and regardless of how you feel about her work - you have to respect what she does. I can't stand her music, but if I had a 13 year old daughter I'd hope if she was listening to pop music that she'd look up to someone like Taylor Swift. http://www.today.com/popculture/tay...instagram-message-bullied-teen-fan-1D80126920 http://www.mtv.com/news/2156750/taylor-swift-letter-mother/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...hings-Taylor-Swift-has-done-for-her-fans.html <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/J1LMp-jEH_k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> etc.
