There are still many places rape is condoned in this world right now, but, it's still rape. An accommodation or lack of repercussions don't change the definition.
Gendry got raped too then. Where was the outrage!!! The "headache" excuse might work in our world, but it doesn't get any play in Westeros. Funny, I think Loras has been the only one to show true affection to his partner.
Dany did eventually to Drago . . . Actual ROB Stark showed alot of affection John Snow . . . .. and ingrid . . . . Dany's wedding night and Sansa are not quite night and day . . . but . .different levels of brutality Rocket River
This sounds about right... ironic for Sansa that out of all her "husbands" (or future husbands), Tyrion will end up being the best one. I hope they have another scene together some time later.. but doubt they will ever see each other again.
They have really mishandled the Sand Snakes. They had a chance to be a very cool addition, but both of their scenes have been complete duds. Doran Martell has been fine, but otherwise everything in Dorne has been sucked. After the awesomeness of Oberyn, it has been this season's biggest disappointment.
If they purposely weakened the sand snakes story/roles, why hire such a good actor for oberyn's brother?
So they wanted to show Sansa being raped and created a storyline around it? Not buying that at all. There's more at play here. We know Ramsay is a monster but this is a new level of depravity for him. And it may just be the catalyst that sets Theon on a path toward redemption and cause Sansa's anger and desire for vengeance to reach a breaking point. She's not running from Winterfell. This is her home. Sansa, Theon, Brienne, the Boltons, Stannis, Littlefinger...they're all converging.
Exactly. I don't see why justtxyank is treating that scene like it was the climax of the story line (no pun intended, seriously). From what I've been led to believe, good things are in store for Sansa, getting revenge on the ****er is the first one of them, probably due to her own devices.
Two fully armored Kings Guards can't cut through five malnourished fanatics wielding baseball bats? Joffrey would have put Lancel and his goons in their place. Thankfully, the Sand Snakes scenes are so comically bad that this Trial By Faith garbage seems tame in comparison.
Wait you didn't like it when the 3 ninja girls cut from a Mortal Kombat movie showed up and started flashing Dat steel at jamie in the Alcazar in Sevilla?
They weren't really weakened. They've always sucked. The show had an opportunity to redeem a mistake, but they didn't manage it. I'm not sure why people think the rape was so depraved. It wasn't a terribly nice thing to do, but it probably wasn't Ramsay's first time. And anyway, it doesn't begin to compare to what he did with Theon in terms of depravity.
As much as I appreciate how well Theon was acting in that scene, I was wondering why he was so torn up about it. Maybe Theon wanted Sansa in his youth and he felt for her, but as Reek he's been through so much more.
don't understand people freaking out about the rape. 1) It shouldn't have been a surprise to her or the audience. In that depraved world, agreeing to marry someone is agreeing to sleep with them. 2) they did the same thing with Dany in the first episode of the show.
There's still some part of Theon that exists (IMO); he's not 100% Reek. And that part no doubt thinks Ramsay is a monster. So seeing Ramsay force himself on someone he used to think of as a sister would upset him quite a bit, I would think.
Sansa was like a sister to him, they grew up together. The real reason why he took Winterfell in the first place was because he essentially wanted to be a Stark, Prince of Winterfell. He'd have never done anything directly to any of the Starks, he just had a moment of jealousy that led to betrayal.....that doesn't change who he is.
Whats up with the spot on Jorah's arm? Is it the same thing Shireen Baratheon has? How does it spread? Any contact or do you have to touch the infected area?
It's greyscale, the same disease that Shireen has. One of the stone men touched choir boy Jorah off screen and transmitted the disease. Although, it was a weird spot to contract the disease considering he has bracers and clothes there.
