Absolutely. It's stunning to me that more folks don't realize the other side. If Beverley comes out on the NBA's biggest stage and plays relatively well, all while the media pushes the "hero" narrative due to his unexpected return, that's a classic scenario for a role player on a great team getting overpaid in free agency. We've seen it numerous times. And if Beverley doesn't play that well? It's understandable, given the injury.
Totally agree here. My main question is how well can he dribble and shoot with the injury. He shouldn't shoot much, but should be able to put up a decent open 3. For dribbling, Curry will press him knowing the injury and Bev will need both hands for sure. After that, let him play, his defense I'm not really worried about, maybe tell him to jump for rebounds a little less, that's about it.
I feel like one side of the contract year argument is pretty significant. Weakened muscles + rushing back from wrist ligament repair + Bev's high energy play = recipe for disaster. Back me up on this, other medical professionals. This could be an incredibly bad decision for him
These guys are clickin very well right now. I would not compromise that chemistry, trust, and confidence these guys have developed. These aspects are what got us here in the first place. Even Harden was willing to put his ego aside. That's the sign of true leadership is empowering your team in any way possible.
If there is anyone insane enough to think they can just walk on the court and play, it is Pat. He once said he would play for free and sleep on the street if he had to.. and I actually believe him. I am sure watching his teammates play and win is ripping him up.
That's dumb I feel like it should be up to players whether or not they play not I doctor predicting if they should or not
When people post giant images in spoilers, they should do warn beforehand that it is a large image. Spoiler in a spoiler.
Not sure I want to waste possessions and have him take the shots necessary to shake off the rust. No to Beverly for now.. but maybe have him ready to play should we make the Finals
Curry is going to get his points, even with plus defensive pg he still gets his. we need to stop Kay and Draymond.
