I would be very shocked if we saw Curry on Harden defensively more than just a handful of times this series, and even then, only due to switches on picks. I have a feeling they're going to have Thompson shade left, and force Harden to go right towards a waiting Bogut.
That's correct. But the first game will clear a lot of things up. It definitely would be a bigger upset than the one amazing one they just pulled off after going down 3-1. I never write any NBA team off esp at this point in the season and esp when you have superstars like Harden and Dwight on your team.
David - please stop being so argumentative. It's fine you want to defend your team but putting the other team down is not going to convince anyone you have a valid argument. The Warriors ARE the best team in the regular season. Can't argue against that. As far as whether or not they are one of the best teams ever? As a long time Warriors fan, I don't care. If the Warriors go on to win the title, they aren't going to care either. For MLB fans, no one is going to look at the SF Giants of 2010, 2012, and 2014 as great teams. But they have titles to show for it. If Warriors fans want to keep talking smack here, they can. But I'm going to just watch the game and let it go from there.
Coach with all due respect I was not putting down the Warriors. Do I think the Warriors are overhyped? Yes. Warriors have had a fantastic season thus far and they are 1 of the 4 teams left with a legitimate shot at winning it all. I respect the Warriors as I do every opponent. But I am not in the camp that believes the Warriors are light years better than the Rockets. Warriors are the media darlings and many have jumped on the bandwagon to revel in the "magical season". The Warriors have a very good backcourt and very good complimentary players that fit well in Kerr's system. But they are far from invincible. Rockets have strengths that could seriously expose and destroy the Warriors as well. If you being a Warrior fan are just blinded by the glamour and can't objectively say the matchup is a lot closer than the mainstream is making it out to be....if yiu truly can't realize that through your fandom, there's nothing more I can say about that.
Josh Smith to me is the x-factor, Harden is going to draw attention and constantly be guarded by Thompson, Iggy, or Barnes, so unless he's on fire, he appears to be contained. Josh, Dwight, Brewer and the shooters need to step up on both sides of the ball, Josh as a point forward is an incredible mismatch for any perimeter defender in the NBA besides LeBron (if he could outmatch Griffin, overhyped Draymond Green is BBQ chicken). If he and Dwight get their AAU/p&r game going, we can win.
