I'm counting what 4 rings there? 2 for Ariza, 1 each for Terry and Brew. Don't underestimate the heart of a champion! We got 3 key guys who are champions and 2 superstars who knows what it takes, from their failures in the finals, to win a championship.
^ Ariza only has one. And if you want to be perfectly honest, you can't really count one of Ariza or Brewer's appearance as they played sparingly. All in all, we still have a ton more veteran playoff experience
Don't expect us to win the warriors Some thoughts how to deal with them through: -foul trouble: if we can somehow make them into foul trouble ....even the best defensive team in the world can take this lightly (howard must be avoid in foul trouble and/or injury at all cost for this is the only hope in this series) -pick and roll(howard) : use this simple tactic for open three or drive to the lane -play physical: must stop curry or other shooters not to have their shooting touch -out rebound them: their relative weakness (and our few advantages as well)
Rockets are the better 3 point defense. #1 to GSW's #5. This is where we can neutralize something GS relies so heavily on as they were #1 in the regular season in offensive 3 point percentage. On the other hand, GS hasn't been challenged from 3 point land like the Rockets have. Houston has faced about 27 three point attempts/game this postseason as compared to just 17 for GS. The Rockets are more battle tested defensively this postseason and this should bear fruit in Game 1.
What are you talking about? The rockets have better personnel to defend the perimeter juggernauts like the Warriors. Grizzlies have a great defense, but the rockets have another gear (as evidenced in the 3-1 comeback) they can turn up in the playoffs and defend the Warriors just fine. I really don't get why so many fans on here are thinking this next matchup is so lopsided in favor of the Warriors. I've said it before, other teams (Warriors included) should be concerned with the Rockets and their 2 beasts and veteran presence.
Considering we might have a few switches on defense, and however the Warriors react to that when we have the ball; we need to run whomever Curry is guarding around a ton of (maybe pointless) screens to help wear him down.
I know the Warriors are the better defensive team but I fear the Clippers defense a lot more because of the way they have played Harden. Harden is our offense and the Clippers play him better than any team in the league.
I know Leo fairly well, and he can still ball. We'll need to cover the corners. Dwight is going to be the most important player in this series. GS doesn't match up with him. They were bullied by ZBO and Marc. Also, Matt Barnes is dunzo in Clipper land. It will show up in a few days but Matthew had a wee bit of a freak out and was less than polite to Mr. Ballmer. I liked him as a Warrior, but then he went off the deep end. Karma. Also...Rockets in 6
Some more fun stats. I seen it said in this thread that the Warriors will keep Harden and the Rockets off the line. GS was 17th in opponent free throws per offensive play at 21.4%. The Rockets were 19th at 21.6%. In other words, the Warriors were not great at keeping opponents off the line. Since the Rockets attack the hoop much more than GS this will be a problem for them. https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/opponent-free-throw-rate
You are so defeated in your loser language. Just Flop yourself out and don't even bother watching the WCF then since it's already over right? Fans like you think you're bringing a pragmatic perspective to the discussion, but in reality you're just a chicken little that panics at the "Warriors" Any matchup at the conference final round is tough because teams that get there have earned it. This will be far from a cakewalk for the Warriors. They have their hands full with the Red Beast peaking at the right time. You're apparently drinking the Warriors koolaid along with the rest of the mainstream media. Rockets have their flaws but they are more conducively constructed to win it all than the Warriors. You can "hold me accountable" on that last statement, I couldn't care less. Chicken....
Haha. That is awesome news. The guy made a further mockery of himself this series. I am assuming his attitude to Ballmer was in relation to his trash talk to Harden's mom? Epic.
Oh and one more thing, you just ran down your laundry list version of how the Warriors will "successfully" neutralize Harden and company.... What about the other way around? Are the rockets just incompetent to effectively neutralize or defend the Warriors? Why don't you offer your "analysis" on the other side of the ball also? Warriors are not world beaters. They just have not faced a real fight yet.
The two losses to the Grizzlies may not be adversity to you. However, it woke the Warriors up. Instead of playing down to the Grizzlies muck it up style, the Warriors defended and got the offense to their style. If the Warriors had swept the Grizzlies then maybe you could say they were coming in overconfident. But the Warriors lost a couple and even in their wins, they played sloppy. The Warriors have not played to their optimal this playoff season. Be sure that Kerr isn't going to let the Warriors get over confident.
Honestly, I'm not liking our chances. This is going to be a very tough series and I will be surprised if they can win one.
Its clear that respect wont be given...it just has to be earned. The Warriors are a dangerous team and have people/personnel that can hurt you. YOU cannot have scoring droughts against this team. Period. They can easily make a 10 point lead disappear in 30 seconds. And they play defense. Key will be: 1. How will the Rockets perimeter defense hold up against crazy high screens. They are tremendous at getting open looks from distance. 2. Andrew Bogut vs Dwight Howard. Bogut is a pest/irritant and legit problem. He doesnt mind taking dirty cheap shots, and loves to scrap. Dwight needs to stay engaged and not let this POS make him get off his game...but they will have a hard time stopping the 4 to 5 lob. I expect this to be used quite a bit. 3. Ability to switch. Harden has to worry about...Green, Iguodala, Barnes, and Thompson constantly... Memphis has given the Rockets a blue print on attacking them. DMo's injury hurts quite a bit, but this is a great opportunity for TJones and Josh Smith to destroy their 4's...They can not guard the post. In the end, the winner of the series will have to dictate tempo for 4 of the possible 7.
Let's just say that there was "blame" talk. Matt made a few passing comments about Balmer's investment to the team... ...and then allegedly had choice words for Doc playing a certain someone over him. #Done. James is still waiting for your apology, Matt. So is Sarver. ...and you don't insult a father and son.
