We've only played one good game (Game 5) in this series for the whole of 48 minutes. The Clippers have basically outplayed us in all other 5 games for a majority of those games. Hopefully, we get the same results as Game 5 since we are playing at home, but the team needs to understand we have to be locked in for the whole 48 minutes to pull this out. Our defense needs to as aggressive as it was in the 4th quarter of Game 6. Good luck guys!!!
Eh, screw being cautious. We need to go out and expect to win the game. The Clippers were extraordinarily cautious in the 2nd half. We need to play with heart not fear.
It's not about being cautious. It's about being smart. Examples: Terry attempted alley-oop that was a turnover. Ariza fast break pass to Dwight's legs. Brewer (I think) first half fast break attempt to thread multiple needles to get it to Ariza on a fast break that was, predictably, picked off. The Prig/Brewer back and forth and back fast break attempt that ended up with Brewer getting blocked. You can feel these things about to fail as they're happening. Not because they don't deserve the "look". But because they're not smart.
I know exactly how you feel, I can totally see the Clippers stealing a win and celebrating on our home floor. Then the narrative is "wow, the clippers have shown so much maturity to bounce back from that devastating loss" Everyone will talk about the maturity of CP3 and Blake Griffin, it will sound like they were a team of destiny and Game 6 will be an after thought. So yes, I know exactly how you feel. The Rockets need to play smart and hard. They can't take the clippers lightly and think that they would just roll over and die.
If McHale sees that his team is in a rhythm, he's got to learn not to **** it up. Refrain from hacking unless you're comfortable with a lead and can see to it that the offense can still score when we have the ball.
Houston fans need to rep the Rockets this Sunday. No seat should be empty at the opening tip and there should be a sea of Rocket red in the stands. Go Rockets.
I'm on the side of exercising caution as well. I think we see a Clippers team that is pissed as hell right now. Hopefully, our team doesn't get carried away with this win. The great advantage though is we're at home, and I swear to God, if our crowd isn't loud for the entire duration of every Clippers possession...fire McFAIL
