According to ESPN, that's the first time in the 50th try that trailing by double digits in the 4th that the Rockets came back to win in the playoffs. Up there with TMac's 13 in 33, which is amazing, but, obviously, this gets the edge since the season was on the line. I'm still stressin' right now hahah
This one is damn close to the two against PHX forcing games 6 & 7. The end result of those is greater at this point .... Win Sunday and you have to put this one in the top 3. It aint quite the kiss of death just yet ....
Game 1 of 1995 NBA Finals probably Game 5 1995 1st round against Utah I picked those because we know what happened that year. This one I would put 3rd
Forgot about that one .... Shaq & the Magic choked that one away. This being an elimination game , it move past that one up near the game 6 & 7 wins against Phx.
But that was a 20 point deficit in the 2nd quarter. And Game 1. Coming back from 19 down with 2:35 left in the 3rd in an elimination game with your best player on the bench is beyond comprehension.
The only correct answer is Game 1 vs. the Magic. This is definitely the best one since the glory days.
I voted the 13 points in 33 seconds based on the sheer implausibility of it. Yes, I thought this series was over in the third but we had an entire 4th quarter to come back. Now was tonight's comeback the most meaningful? Of course, by far! But the 13 in 33 was the "greatest" imo as far as being impressive
One game at a time, nothing to celebrate. The Rockets only earnt the right to play another game, nothing more Got to keep the focus and hunger.
i thought i remember us being down 20 at some point in game 1 vs orlando in the finals.. someone confirm/deny..
13 in 33 lol. Go watch 1994 and 1995 playoffs. 1994 - Down 0-2. Lost both home games after blowing back to back 20 minute 4th quarter leads. Came back to win the series after Maxwell explosion in game 3 when they werr down and about to go down 0-3. 1995 - Down 7-9 point with few minutes left in 4th quarter in elimination game in Utah. Came back to win the game and series. 1995 - Down 1-3 in the series against the Suns. Won next three games to win the series. Won Game 6 on the road with Drexler playing with flu. 1995 - Down huge in game 1 of NBA finals. Barrage of 3s to force overtime and then won the game in OT. Went on to sweet the final series. 13 in 33 ....a meaningless regular season game lol
Let's not kid ourselves as monumental as this game might become in Rockets folklore if we have a deep playoff run, still McGrady's 13 in 33 will stand the test of time as one of the greatest clutch performances not only in NBA but perhaps sports history.
