I am a lurker and barely ever post. I honestly believe that a lot of people on here don't actually watch the games. Dwight Howard has been incredible IMO in the past two playoffs. Easily the best player that we have had in the playoffs in the past two years.
Yes, you are. They barely allow him to play 4 quarters, the way he's officiated and simultaneously roughed up. This points to a complete lack of understanding, or watching, of what's going on in the game. He is out there working... which is more than we can say for what JS and JD were doing before last night when JS finally made some plays and JD finally GOT to play in garbage time. This is contradictory, and he isn't the go to man in crunch time. He's the grinder that takes over when the offense is forced to slow down. That's hard work. That's because Harden takes the game winners. Also because he has to battle in the paint all night and often picks up a good deal of fouls, also because of his size, he is allow to be mauled and often won't get the calls. Hakeem had this problem too for a while... until he ascended and won a championship. If you hate him why are you listening to what he says about DH? Also, who cares what Kobe says. Perhaps the only debatable part of your post, but it is dependent on cutting bait on him, the only reasons for doing so being those you give in the above quotes, which aren't really worthy of merit, or out of fear of the unknown, which we could apply to anyone on the team for the same lack of reason.
Indeed quite mind boggling. Dwight has made important changes, his pick and roll is infinitely better than before. He is being selective with his low post game. He sets screens, runs the floor and plays good to great defense. There are times when he gets in unnecessary foul trouble, but he is able to adjust to it fairly well. The only thing that he is really bad at is FT's. I think you will agree with me, that a small minority of our fans would "trade him for a bag of chips".
Well according to the OP, he is a problem. So all what the Rockets would get back in return is another problem, which is ironically, contrary to want he wants.
We are down 3-2 to the Clippers in the 2nd round and would be up 3-2 if the whole team except for Howard didn't come out flat in game 1, and you guys are talking about letting Howard go for peanuts. He's the best center in the league. Have you guys seen what happens to us when he gets in foul trouble?
The only way I could possibly imagine trading Dwight the way he's performing and not being 100% is if his leg will fall apart, but if so he won't have any value, so letting him expire and create a possibility for much more aggressive free agency push will be enough NOT GETTING TRADED Horrible thread is horrible
dwight for kyrie irving and timofey mozgov. i'd do it in a heartbeat. j/k. i like dwight. his thing is his mileage. so this team probably has 2-3 more years left to contend - on paper.
Not sure why you're saying "you guys". OP is pretty much the only one in here asking to get rid of Howard. Every other post in this thread is basically calling out the OP for the stupidity of his post.
This really has nothing to do with Dwights trade value but I didn't want to start a thread over it. Anyone notice that Dwight looked more muscular and cut when he played for Orlando? Or is it just that the Rocket Jerseys are have a terrible box shape and just look awful??
