No, Rijkaard gets the credit he deserves. Don't forget he had another genius on the pitch, Dinho. Unfortunately, Dinho liked parties/alcohol more the soccer. Perhaps Pep's best decision ever was to move Messi from RW to the false 9 position. I mean during Rikjards years we would see glimpses of brilliance from Messi but his talents were very often forgotten on the right wing. By moving him to the false 9, he became the center of the attack and his production (goals+assists) increased significantly. Granted Luis Enrique has now moved him back to the RW but now it's different because everyone knows who Messi is and someway or another the ball will come to that right wing and if not Messi will go anywhere on the pitch to to find it.
Ah ok got it. He kinda looks like he'd be that kind of person...if that makes sense to say. Thx, good take. For sure the decision to move Messi up to the false 9 and the decision to move CRonaldo from RW to forward have to be two of the best decisions to happen in the last decade or so of the game, given what we've witnessed from both players. (Slight consideration also for the decision to move Gareth Bale from left back to left mid and from left mid upward).
After 12 minutes, Bayern already with a red card vs. Augsburg. Even freakin Augsburg realizes how easy it is to kill our defense witth one pass because of how high the defensive line is on the pitch. And Lahm already sent to the bench, he's pizz poor right now, lacks everything. When the F will Pep realize that our defense needs to play deeper and that the 3-man line won't work?!
Great to see how Pep unnecessarily started Martìnez vs. Leverkusen and played him for 62 minutes. This game didn't mean **** and we were in preperation for Barca. Hasn't played one second since then, guess he re-injured his knee and everyone's keeping quiet. But you let go off Müller-Wohlfahrt in order to rush players back instead of waiting til they're 100% healthy. Three weeks (!) since Müller-Wohlfahrt left: Badstuber, Robben, Martinez rushed back and re-injured. Lewandowski, Rode out as well. Also, today was our 4th defeat in a row, unacceptable for a club like Bayern.
According to BeinSports, Pep has a verbal agreement to coach Man City next season. Would be great, the sooner this ends the better.
poor real, got virtually knocked out from la liga today and then could get knocked out of the ucl in a few days. carlo probably won't survive this
Today is destined to be a bad day for me, very possible losses to Chelsea and Clippers. Man all these year as fan of LFC and Rockets, yet I will be behind them until I die.
I believe he shot that rumor down today. Unfortunate. I actually liked watching the Jupp Heynckes' Bayern side. Ruthless. What's going to happen with Gotze? So unless Liverpool score 14 goals and not concede the last two games, United are finally back in the CL. Can't say I'm happy about this season but it could've gone a lot worse. A CB, RB, CM, CDM, and ST are an absolute must this summer on top of the signing of Memphis. Clyne is supposedly very close to joining, as well as Gundogan. The Hummels front has gone cold and LVG wants a midfielder. Depending on how that goes, we may or may not need a new forward. Exciting times ahead!
Liverpool is stuck in mediocrity for the next decade... maybe more. Thank you Arsenal for not scoring, my soccer fantasy team just won this week.
Pep by far, I'm way more emotionally invested in Bayern. Also, McHale is a very likeable guy imo and is trying his best, also shown the capability of adapting and learning.
