Any time you are missing 40% of your starting lineup you are going to struggle in the 2nd round in the West. You can get by scrub teams like the Mavs, but health in the Western playoffs is absolutely something teams must have.
Bring Bev and Dmo and give the Clips a healthy CP and the Clips sweep lol. Maybe 5 games I will be generous.
Dmo would get overpowered and Tbagged by Jordan and Griffin. Bev wouldn't be much better than Prig or Terry. It's not like Bev is gonna create for others or shutdown Paul or Rivers for that matter. Even if Bev and Dmo played their best..... The team goes as Harden goes. Harden has struggled mightily to make his own impact and create for others. Bev and Dmo= not much different series.
Well I said Bev could slow down the likes of Rivers and Reddick. A healthy CP3 would still take a big quick defender to slow down. Brewer and Ariza are too busy not caring for the moment.
You forget there's a healthy Howard with more room to dunk... Of course Dmo and Bev would help immensely...
I'm sorry, but Bev and Dmo aren't going to make up for 30 points. That's ridiculous. Maybe a 5-10 point difference. But we're getting destroyed. Bev isn't Artest, and Dmo isn't Pau Gasol here.
No way we can play the injury excuse in this series. I would take no DMo and Bev 100 percent of the time if it meant no CP3.
Look up the term "sample size" and get back to me k thanks. Then you have the whole blowing by him and setting up easy baskets dealy that's kinda important also and stuff. Don't forget to include our record in those games and the big ole impact he had lol. He's a nobody.
If we weren't starting two bench guys making our starting lineup and our bench weaker, maybe we never get down to the point that the team gives up.....
Those two players wouldn't make any difference in this series. Jones just isn't enough of a player to guard Griffen in any capacity, neither is Donatas. Beverly could of stopped Rivers but not Paul. No way no how. So my theory is maybe Bev/Dmo could of won us one more game or made game 3/4 interesting. But not impacting the series. It took the Clippers a long time to get where they are. They've been stomped out of the 1st and 2nd round a few times the last few years but the kept at it. Adding players here and there, getting a better coach, getting a new owner that wants to win. I actually think with our core we could use them as a model in the next few years. But I agree coach mcgotnothing needs to go. I think Morey needs to move on. Les needs to sell the team to someone interested in bringing back pride to the Houston Rockets. I'm not going to hate but that's how I feel right now.
Riiiiiiight. LOL. ETA: I'll humor you with a little logic. If you can't process the fact that Bev on CP3 would let Ariza guard Reddick... and that those two on CP3/Reddick would decrease the time Jet would have to spend getting lit up by Reddick... and that THAT would be an improvement in and of itself -- maybe you just don't have eyes. I'll entertain that possibility.
We were 1-1 in those games, the win coming when they were full strength, we without dwight, and the main reason we won was because paul was pretty bad in that game (7-21 shooting, 5 assists, 3 turnovers). As for small sample size, for an individual matchup, it starts to give you a trend, but more than that, the way we set up our defense, we trust Beverley to play with very minimal, sometimes no help, which improves the rest of the defense, then you shift Ariza to Redick and well.... Structurally though, the general rule of thumb with defense is 3 can cover for 2, 2 can't cover for 3, just look at how Memphis' defense operates with/without Conley, or Golden state without Bogut or Green for another example.
The Rockets have gotte blown out through frustration. Terrible defense leading to worse offense. Improve the defense and there's less pressure when playing offense.
Of course he's not LeBron. The point is 3 other teams are banged up and not getting destroyed by 20+. If the Mavs were 100% healthy and Rondo had his head on right, that would've been a different series too, but no one wants to hear Mavs fans make that argument either. If Parker was 100% maybe the Clippers wouldnt be here at all. If Mike Conley didnt get his face broken and miss game 1, maybe the Grizzlies are up 3-0 at this point. The bottom line is the Rockets really needed game 1, when Blake Griffin and company had to be hurting after a tough 7 game series vs the defending champs and no CP3. SOmehow the Rockets still came out flat and lost and that set the tone for the series.
Wait a minute,, according to Harden himself and Howard are the cornerstones of the team and everyone else are just "role players" So 2 role players is the difference between getting whooped left and right for 20-30 points per game and being competitive with a team with a injured Chris Paul.
1. We have no point guard, no power forward and a dimwit for a coach. 2. If you can't accept the above, then you're in denial. I still have faith to win 3 games in a row, but it's going to take extreme confidence with HEART and energy and absolutely no margin for error. 3. Last but not least, if Harden has another game with only 11 field goal attempts by the end of the 3rd quarter... you unfortunately already know the answer to that, Houston. 4. Rockets in 7... it's not over until it's over.
Bev is sorely missed. That said, we are first hand experiencing Jordan becoming the most powerful center in the NBA. Other then that, I am speechless at what has transpired.
