And thats another post that went above your head. The point was Les isn't just going to eat the money he owes a coach and hire a new one. From the article.. Les's policy on this has been discussed on here many times before. So , in summary, you didn't prove any inaccuracies, just how you comprehend things in pieces and fail to look at the bigger picture.
From JVG's mouth per the article: "You're always disappointed when you're fired. It's difficult," Van Gundy said. "But I was a little bit more upset when it was being spun that I hadn't come to a decision about wanting to coach. I had told them long ago that I wanted to coach if they wanted me. "And, obviously, they felt that they were better served going a different direction, which is well within their right," he said. "I both accept that and yet at the same time, respectfully disagree with that decision."
Try to reacquire Rick Adelman OR Pry away Thibs OR Messina OR Sergio Scariolo (Spanish national men's head coach)
You made the claim that Les has never fired anyone, that was wrong. I can't read your mind if you don't elaborate past that. Les has eaten the money on player's contracts to get out of them and has paid money for picks. Smart people don't just throw money around but know when to spend it. Les isn't the best owner in the league, but I simply don't agree with your narrative.
Been on this site way longer than you, I assure you. You using my join date against me, only shows how weak your argument is or lack of.
Ok. So you acknowledge how bad of a coach McHale is at this point right..? I mean the players flat out quit on him. The only logical thing would be to find a new coach. 10$ Tipjar bet that he stays here during the remainder of his contract. Les is not going to fire him. You in?
I actually did read the article. You and his issues don't concern me. If he was wrong - doesn't bother me. His wording was of comedic value
Your reading comprehension is showing again. Read who that post was directed at. And no, you haven't been on this site longer than me, even if you were banned before (not surprising if true).
Is coaching really that important? Kerr looking like a fool b/c his players now can't make shots. Blatt is going to the Finals b/c he has Lebron. Players decide games for the most part. When you get blown out like the Rockets have, it's on the players.
Pretty sad when you have legendary defenders in Howard and Ariza, but you can't trust your defense and need to(?) hack Deandre Jordan.
I acknowledge McHale isn't the answer. McHale is average to mediocre, not bad. I don't take things that personally. The players quit on each other and the organization if you want to get technical. If there is a viable candidate to replace them. Nothing guarantees the next coach would be any better, but I'd be disappointed if McHale were here next year. Which is it? McHale could very well retire. Would I win then since he wouldn't stay here the remainder of his contract.
I was just pointing out join date doesn't mean you're smarter or more informed. I knew you were directing it at him, which is why I corrected myself in the subsequent post. I have been on this site since 2004. I've never been banned, I just stop posting over long periods of time and lurk due to the chicken little and the irrationality. Surprised I've posted this much considering how bad the GARM has gotten.
First, I have to applaud you for being civil. My last post was a bit abrasive, ignore it and I apologize. Its just a friendly bet to settle an argument that would have no end at this point. So if Mchale is still the coach after this season (not fired) I win, if he is fired, you win. If he retires, we'll just call it a draw.
None of those coaches would accept it. McHale accepts it. There is a reason Jordan and Kobe had the same mentality. A big part of that was the coach. I like how these coaches that you name have ALWAYS had success, that's no coincidence.
Yep, I corrected my mistake. Your point? You just beat me before I hit "submit reply". There's a one minute delay between my correction. Instead of playing "gotcha", stick with basketball.
I appreciate that. Look, I'm not really sure the odds of McHale returning. Morey/Les won't replace McHale without a viable candidate. I'd be more willing to make that bet this offseason when we have a better idea of candidates.
