The experiment could have/can work this year. we could be a real competitve playoff team with a sound mindset defense creates offense and a real, tangible system which players play specific, consistent, and effective roles. But we don't. McHale has had more than enough time to establish himself with this team. It's just not a good fit with our specific players. He most importantly lacks discipline with our players, which all need to be in a system with discipline in order to be elite and consistent. I don't want the next hire to be one of no experience. Our window is closing as every day goes by. Give me Thibs, a point guard who can create, three point shooting backup center, and three point specialist guard and stop this embarrassment of basketball.
Can't wait for the "Fire Thibs Thread" mid way next season. Can't wait for the "Thibs is playing "X" way too many minutes".
Van Gundy fired by Rockets after four seasons I think I am/was on your ignore list because of me correcting your inaccuracies.
I just think Tom could command respect from Harden and Howard unlike McHale. Of course they do as a person but as a coach theirs no connection there
Is there a magical coach or a set of magical coaching adjustments that makes a team 30 points better?
Morey would have to take a "step back". Would Thibodeau adhere to running the Morey philosophy? On the flip side, if you're someone who wants things easier for Harden (and the team), better looks and less isolation, Thibodeau probably isn't your guy. And yes, there is the whole "playing guys too many minutes/running guys into the ground" thing. I mean, you hear JVG on the telecasts mocking how today's players need rest and they should play through injury, so on and so forth.
Doesn't matter if you have Pop, the Zen Master & Red altogether on the sideline at the same time. If your best player never shows up for the playoffs, you will not win.
