I agree. Sad but true. We have a few more years of developing to do. If we come back in game 5 and win this that'll be great. We need that mental toughness that the Clippers had to come back and win against San Antonio after they got blown out.
Well it was clear, but you at least expected much competition. It's the lack of pride and cohesiveness that's disappointing. When we fell apart, the Rocket's individual players put their heads down and tried to do things on their own. That's not our strength.
I'm not angry, I'm embarrassed What this has cemented is that this team is not a top tier team. The top teams in the WC and League for that matter are the Spurs, Clippers, Grizzles, GSW, and perhaps the Thunder with a healthy Durant. We, unfortunately, are akin to the Blazers, Mavs, etc. which will get us in the playoffs but not very far thereafter.
our strength is beating up on shetty teams we no longer have that strength against not shetty teams we look lost on offense and defense, there's nothing positive that could've came of this unless we start a brawl and injure blake griffin
The 5 stages of grief....2015 Rockets playoff style. I started with shock, in game 1. I settled into denial in game 2, 2nd quarter. I moved to bargaining in game 3 3rd quarter. I am currently in depression after game 4. I will be in acceptance mode by 3rd quarter game 5.
I was in acceptance mode the moment I saw Game 7 of the Clippers-Spurs series. Was praying for a miracle, looked like we had a chance after Game 2 and then Games 3 and 4 happened.
All other 6 western conference playoff team would have beaten the Dallas. It's nothing special for the Rockets to have done that. It's a shame the Rockets instead of the Spurs have gone to the 2nd round.
Hate to bring it up, but that game 7 loss to Dallas by 40 was worse... We won games 1 and 2 at Dallas as well that series. We really are cursed since '95...
I'm not angry, I'm disappointed. Dmo and Beverly would give us a much fairer shot at this team but the way this team is playing right now, tip your cap. McHale extension".......
True. We just need the final score of game 5 to declare. In all seriousness I felt we would go down 4-2. I thought we would drop game 1. Take game 2 and lose both in L.A. But I really thought the losses in L.A. would be by a combined 5 or 6 and one of those games having questionable officiating. I really didn't think we would get slaughtered. Then I thought we would win game 5 and bow out in 6. Now I honestly don't know how we win game 5. This team is like a beat animal cowering in the corner. That just sets me off to. You have a scrub in Barnes telling one of your own teams mom's to go speak in his microphone and you cower. Jesus guys. Have some f'ing pride already.
I'm just very disappointed in this team. No shame losing close games on the road in the playoffs. If we lost both games but played well in both then there may be some hope that we can extend the series. But the way the team has played these past few games and in the series as a whole is disappointing. We basically gave up every time the Clippers had a run. Every single time. There just hasn't been anything remotely redeemable about these past few games to give hope that things will change next game. - Harden disappears after a good 1st quarter and is totally losing his man on defense. - Smith has been horrible from the tip of Game 1 to now - Brewer is shooting 47% from the free throw line and has been horrible every where else - Howard is good when he gets time but the Clippers are baiting him and he keeps biting on cheap fouls and technicals - McHale has been out coached as if he was a 7th Grade coach and Doc is Pop on steriods - Freaking Austin Rivers is swagging on the court. He is hitting 50+% from three! - Paul is not even doing anything stat wise, yet we have been blown out. - Griffin has been pretty quiet the past two games, yet we have been blown out. - Ariza, Terry and none of our three point shooters can hit at the same time. - Free throw shooting, past Harden, has been horrible. - Defense is giving up 120+ every game! - Offense consist of iso and post ups. Where is the PnR? - Team has basically quit on the season.
Disappointed??? That's what parents say about their kids when they don't try. Athletes and coaches should be pissed. Must admit, I'm about as close to angry as I can get wrt a sports game...and my beloved Rockets. I'm certainly not feeling "disappointment." this really sucks. Just rolling over and giving up two games in a row after that 20point 2ndQ dismantling in Game 2.
I'm not angry, I'm embarrassed. Actually, humiliated. I can't even bring up legitimate arguments/rationalizations/excuses anymore when talking with my non-Houston friends. It's extremely frustrating rooting for a team with the past two decades of history the Rockets have had. 2005 vs Dallas and 2007 vs the Jazz (and even 2014 vs the Blazers) hurt more, but altogether this is a veritable cherry on top. What has being a Rockets fan for my entire teenage and adult life given me? Nothing but shame and ridicule. Good thing I am not as much a choker as my basketball team is; otherwise I'd be out of a job. Unfortunately, in basketball there are no consequences. There's always "live to fight another day", and in the end everyone collects a huge check. You just hope that once in a while Dwight Howard or James Harden would feel as offended as their fans do and man up. As I age, I just won't have the same ability to give myself over to a team, with all the heartbreak we've endured.
I've not read anything about 'internal problems' - but I just can't help thinking something is up that we don't know about. Regardless of reasons, teams just don't lose by this much in such a way we have. Surely there's something not right in the dressing room that's spilling onto the court in terms of the way we're playing?
