As annoying it is to listen Charles, he did make valid points that we need to pay attention to scouting reports. This whole series, I would assume they didn't even watch a minute of film to prepare.

I agree. The heart of the problem is obvious to most, but for McHale to openly admit something like that threw me off. He could have at least muttered the company line about defense, 3 pointers and easy baskets at the rim.

He should be rallying the troops, not adding fuel to the fire.

#Rockets McHale: we made silly mistakes in transition defense. We need to get set and guard people. The first drill we ran in training camp

there's a constant theme with mchale's comments after team meltdowns where he tries to defend himself by saying the players didn't follow his instructions. only problem is, this theme is now four years running and has already been used on four completely different rosters.

Interesting that Paul was noticeably limping into the arena. Dude is far from 100%. It's inexcusable not to go at him on both ends. Make him have to work real hard.

If that's not an indictment on the coach, then I don't know what is.

Are you kidding me? your reply seems far more trollish than what he said. A lot of people would not agree or would even lose hope hearing the head coach of your favorite team come out and say that his team has no identity in the 2nd round. Fans hoping and believing we will to continue (despite adversity, which most teams face) to advance past this round, don't need to hear that. What Mchale said does not build confidence for anyone.

We got beat by badly by Rivers and Reddick last game... no excuse for that. Not sure how that makes some people here horrible fans or in your words not a fan in the first place.

I'd be far more willing to defend McHale if I saw him calling timeouts and correcting these issues DURING A FREAKING GAME!!! Every team, I don't care who you are, is gonna deviate from their gameplan at some point during the course of 48 minutes. Even the Spurs who are about as efficient and machine-like as you'll find in the NBA have those moments. But when that happens, you see Pop call a timeout looking p-ssed as hell. And rest assured, when play resumes, those issues are almost always rectified.

I honestly don't understand McHale's thought process during these games. Does he think the players will figure it out themselves if left to their own devices? Is he trying to teach them a lesson by not fixing the problem himself so that they'll be more self-reliant? Is he afraid they'll turn on him if he acts more assertive and belligerent? He's a Hall of Fame player and he's been coaching for a long time now, so I know he's gotta be aware of the need for in-game adjustments. So there has to be some sort of explanation for his refusal to implement them, but it continues to elude me.

Hard for him to get up and call timeouts. Not as willing.

McHale always the one who put the blame on, never looks at himself for mistakes.

I think Reggie Miller is our bad luck. But luck doesn't translate to a 25 point defeat...

Gotta show something tonight. Some fire? SwagChamps?

We'll see how this goes. I'm feeling a loss, but hopefully the Rockets surprise me.
