David Lee saw minutes in Game 2 but looked extremely rusty and made bad mistakes. He's handled the situation this year with a lot of class - but it's messed with his head I think. Warriors could have really used him in this series - he was an important factor in regular season games against Grizz.

This thread is 38 pages long.

Also, I am really surprised by how many people (not only on this board, but around the country) want the grizzlies to knock off the warriors.

I thought the general public was supposed to prefer the curry-led warriors.

People root for underdogs. Warriors are favorites. I think that's the reason.

I think the underdog aspect is part of it. But I also think that fans see how the media are treating the grizzlies as stepping stones. And when they see that the grizzlies are a blue collar team that doesn't make excuses and just goes out there and plays, they (the fans) resent the media's portrayal of them.

Many teams in this thread people are saying how easy it is to like the grizzlies and that's true, because the grizzlies are just like you and me, they work for what they get they don't get it handed to them.

They say good offense beats good defense, the Grizz are proving that wrong. Warriors were my pick to go all the way and its far from over but it would be huge if they lose this series to the Grizz.

I don't think any legitimate hoops writer says offense > defense in playoffs. In regular season it might, but defenses in playoffs are just too good.

I've always pulled for the Grizzlies (after the Rockets of course), since they brought Battier back in 2011 anyway.

I want the Warriors to lose not only bc I don't think the rockets can handle then but because Graymond Green. He's so annoying to look at.

wow, that's shocking and also it is probably something of a smug attitude. After game 1, Kerr probably thought it didn't matter if Conley played or not, because the dubs were just going to blow the grizzlies out again.

I wish the Rockets had 1/1000th the heart the Grizzlies have.

Curry has proven he's vastly vastly overrated. When his jump shot isn't on, what can he do when the defense turns up? Zilch. Pretty disappointing.

i expect the refs to help out the warriors to even up this series in game 4 and to also help the mvp improve his stats. nba narratives are like miracles

Agreed. I'm assuming the Grizzlies are the closest thing, in today's NBA, to the NBA of yesteryear (physicality was appreciated, no flops, no constant complaining / whining to the refs, etc). This is why I think a lot of older (>30 yo) fans like the Grizz so much.

Every team works for what they get, tbh. The Grizz just represent something more...genuine (I guess), than the rest of the league.

Rockets will certainly lose in the 2nd round but I would get some enjoyment if the Warriors go down with us after the "historic" season they had.

The Grizzlies will be the team I root for after this series if we lose. Yes they are in our division but I always admired them. I am also rooting for Washington but with Wall out it doesn't look good for them. I don't want to watch Golden State, LAC or Lebron win a ring.
