He will be on his death bed or near it. He will tell Dany something. Someone knows the secret about the bloodlines. The show will give it away on a silver platter.
You should! Specially the Barristan chapter, it's awesome. This was a great reply. If anything, these deviations make the show even more exciting as we are in the dark in some of the scenes.
This was the show's way of killing two birds with one stone. They need to make up a reason for Dany to invite Jorah back, so killing off Selmy and making her vulnerable is the perfect way to do it. They also need to cough up the secret despite 4 prior seasons of never mentioning it, so having someone who knows it being on their deathbed is ideal. Still, **** them for killing off Selmy. His moments in Dance of Dragons were the best.
I think that's a good theory... also I'm wondering if the show will bring in Jorah and Tyrion as slaves to fight and do the pig tilt for Dany.... I am waiting for the enslavement and break down of Jorah, more than him reuniting with Dany. I don't think she will ever want him... maybe Tyrion... Also the Harpy, who we all should know by now, IMO will replace Quentin for the BBQ scene It will show her empowering and triumphing, should it happen. Maybe it will all come together during the fighting pit scene. Also who is ready for Sana and Theon's reunion? Shouldn't that be awkward.... will he try to rescue her? How will things go over with Sansa and Ramsay? The questions are endless on this plotline, with Little Finger off to take advantage of the chaos in king's landing. Meanwhile Jon is likely going to get stabbed by Bowen near the end of the season, and that will not go over well with the wildings... book it. This banishment, or stabbing, could lead to the revolt of the wildlings and usher an end to the order of the night's watch. It could also mean Jon will die, and possibly be brought back... yes by magic... and then he will be out of the night's watch through a loophole. Also where is Sam's story going? Is he going to leave yet or what?
Take comfort in knowing this season is wildly different from the books my tv watching friends. Nothing can be spoiled now.
Yeah, these book readers threads are rapidly becoming the prediction thread because the show is almost entirely off the rails. I am really happy it has because I don't think the last 2 books would make for compelling TV. Really as a book reader the only event I can say for certain is gonna happen is Cersei getting popped by the faith. Every other plot line is either new, or has a possibility of changing.
The biggest problem for me isn't that they change things from the books. It's that they change things, then try to make major events from the books happen as if they didn't change a thing. It makes no sense for Littlefinger to marry Sansa to Ramsay. Especially if his plan is to have Stannis defeat the Boltons. If that's his plan, give Sansa to Stannis now, and watch all the North rally around him to throw down the Boltons. That's ignoring the fact that Stannis is unlikely to keep Littlefinger in power in a world where he sits the iron throne. After all if he wanted Stannis in power he could have not betrayed Ned and helped him put Stannis in power. But if he thinks he can win Stannis over, he would have to ally with Stannis and give him Sansa, not have her captured by Stannis. But fake Arya had a marriage to Ramsay and they don't like Sansa's book story line so they are trying to combine the two even though it makes no sense. Likewise it makes no sense that Jaime would go to rescue Myrcella himself. He says he can't send an army or it would start a war, but if the Martells won't just give Myrcella back willingly, then it doesn't matter how he forcibly removes her from Dorne. Going when he has one arm, is hated and highly recognizable is something he can't even explain to Bronn in the show. They didn't like the Dorne story line, or the Riverlands story line, couldn't or didn't want to cast the actors needed for those book story lines, and decided to mash them together into their own fan fiction and try to make it end up ultimately in the same spot as the books even if that makes no sense. There are dozens of examples of this and it's just getting worse this season.
Thoughts on major events to happen this season.. I'm pretty sure Master Eamon dies next episode, gives Jon the kill the boy speech hence the title. 1. Cersei walk of shame 2. Stannis Marchs on winter fell. 3. Pink letter.. Sansa escaping with Theons help 4. Jorah and Tyrion get captured and sold as slaves. 4. Reopening of pits.. Jorah fights in the pits. Attempt on Dany. Drogon rains fire.. Danny flies away on Drogon. 5. Danny meets the khalasar. 6. Jon gets stabbed. Ufffg should be exciting..
I doubt there will be a khalasar. There is no siege of Mereen, and Barristan is dead who would command during Dany's absence. Jhaqo died in season 1 and I haven't seen any casting news for an alternate Khal. It seems likely that story line has been cut and replaced with what ever they decide to make up instead. We'll see if Dany even marries, but if so that has to happen soon.
I doubt Dany marries. After Barrisatn's death, and with Tyrion and Jorah encouraging her, I can see Dany just outright getting sick of Meereen and choosing to leaving Hizdahr zo Loraq in charge. Maybe instead of the offer to marry, she offers that he can stay in control if he proves he can establish order. Every part of Dany's story after she took Meereen was garbage IMO, so I wouldn't have cared if they changed everything.
Most of the deviations are much better. GRRM has annoying habit of going in circles to stretch stuff out.
Not really, he has told HBO where his story ultimately end up, and HBO will probably stick to that. But the path HBO takes to get there from here is almost entirely their own.
