We don't have a single pf that can even pretend to stay with Griffin 1v1. Constantly switching is killing us. Harden stopped trying on defense again. Cory Brewer is playing the chandler parsons role of a guy who probably was a good defender at one point but sucks now yet is still being treated as a good defender. Playing Josh Smith and Terrence Jones on the court at the same time is so bad. We get destroyed every single time that line-up rolls out. Just play Capela or Dorsey since we have no choice. Jones is so bad. Ariza and Howard can only do so much. On top of that mchale doesn't know how to stop the other team from gaining infinite momentum. GG rockets. Way to expose yourself.
Yup! I was hoping this team would do something but the warning signs were there against the Mavs. We just give up too many points. Hope we can take game 4 but this defense is dead with out Bev and DMo
I've said this since the beginning of the season....the Rockets are a fundamentally flawed team by design. We are not trying to compete this year. Even if Bev and DMo were playing, this wasn't a team that was getting past the conference finals. So take your lumps this year, bring over Llull, bring back McDaniels, get DMo back, sign your 1st and 2nd round picks....I could easily see us making a Golden State type leap next year.
Didnt understand what he was doing when He took Howard out to keep Smith and Jones against DJ/Blake??? Has he even been paying attention to the game. Both those dudes suck on defense and Smith is lazy as ****.
too much switching and help. the team defense is really lazy when there's a pick or a scree. they keep switching or going under. you dont switch every single time. all u need is a pick to send the rockets' defense haywire. its pathetic to watch. the regular season defense numbers didtn translate into the playoffs.
I just want harden to actually ****ing try on defense. Redick and rivers dropping 60 on us? Come the **** on James.
Have we even had a game where we've held our opponent under 100 points? I'm sure we have but....have we?
I cannot belive how bad Smith has been. I thought at least he could help defensively, but he has been awful...
I kind of feel like David Robinson circa 1995 saying this: our defense wasn't as bad as the box score indicates. Truth be told, they made a lot of tough shots. Most of the Rivers and Crawford driving layups were highly contested. Most of the three pointers they nailed were well defended. You reach a point where you ask yourself, "What more could you have done?" and in a lot of of the shots they nailed tonight that was the case. Bottom line: JJ Redick isn't going to go 11/14 again this series nor are the Clipeprs as a whole going to shoot nearly 60% from the field (when the game actually mattered) and 45% from 3-pt range, overall. Much like game one, forget about it and move on... Is it Sunday yet?
Between Jones "puppy dog" face when he gets lost and Smith overall lack of caring Rockets need to go after some bigs who will play defense
There's this coach from Chicago who used to be an assistant with the Rockets, he's going to be available this season.
