Vince Velasquez making his season debut tonight for CC. Now the rotation has Appel, McCullers, Velasquez, Hader. Wow
Same rotation that Lancaster had last year. Only difference now is that theyre not in pitching hell anymore... I really wish Vince could just stay healthy

True, but wouldnt that give another team the advantage of stealing him since they can hide him away with an injury? Velasquez 4IP 2H 1R 1BB 8K. he continues to have big K numbers
Akeem Bostick allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 over 5 shutout innings in his season debut for Quad Cities. They're up 6-0 on Wisconsin in the 6th.
10 Ks in 5 innings for VV. Kid really does have TOR type stuff just wish he could be healthy for a full season.
I'm just saying that Musgrove (and Velasquez too) have never pitched a full season of innings. Stay healthy.
Velasquez and Musgrove aren't on the same level prospect wise. If Velasquez was unprotected he would get scooped up immediately. He has the makings of a stud, but his inability to stay healthy is a big concern, its always something with him. Musgrove on the other hand is in his 5th season, and still hasn't gotten out of A ball. I'm certainly glad he seems to be putting it together, but I still don't view him as one our top 20 prospects. As is, he would survive the Rule V easily, but if he finishes this season really strong that could change because he does have some breakout potential.
5th homer of the season. Would be huge if he was able to stick at catcher with his offensive upside.

#qctimes Jacob Nottingham with a three-run homer for Quad-Cities in the bottom of the third. Appel with a decent outing - 5IP, 8H, 1R, 0ER, 1B, 1K. Would like to see more strikeouts. Correa 2-5 with a double. Is Jio Mier turning into a prospect again?

^^ Joe Musgrove finished the game by allowing 1 hit and striking out 6 over 4 shutout innings to close a 3-1 Lancaster win over Lake Elsinore. He got the win. Bryan Radziewski, who was promoted alongside him, got the start and allowed an unearned run on 4 hits and struck out 5 over 5 innings.
AJ Reed only went 1-4 today, but he has been killing the ball in Lancaster. Currently sporting a .265/.384/.588 line, and that's after a 2-20 start.
Completely off-topic, but... when I first followed Morgan Ensberg on Twitter, I didn't take into consideration that there could be a chance that he was bat-poop insane.
Ensberg is a good follow. I don't think he's all that crazy. He's really enthusiastic about the Astros and our minor leaguers. What's the deal wth Mier? Does he have any reasonable chance of being an above average major leaguer? Haven't heard about him since the Wade regime.
