Credit to McHale for making adjustments, and doing what needs to be done in order to inspire a much more ball secure performance in the second half. I have to admit, as you see, at halftime yesterday I was really calling into question what this team was doing especially on defense, but it looks as though the coaches got this team on the right page, and finally made some adjustments. Some folks here are cemented in the "Fire McHale" "McHale can't coach" narrative, but I hope that can change with given opportunities to prove that its just narrative, and COACHES CAN IMPROVE TOO. So I'd ask for objective commentary please, and to please loosen up the cement bricks holding your stubborn position as pro- or anti-McHale. The guy has shown the ability to improve the team and gameplay so we should remain objective to the overall results. Let's see what happens from this point on, but give credit where credit is due for the adjustments last night.
Despite the Rockets finishing as a 2 seed in the West, ESPN ranked the Rockets as middle of the pack in coaching. That's pretty damning, and it tells me this isn't just a case of some Rockets fans hating McHale. If you ranked the coaches of remaining teams, McHale is what, 2nd to last or dead last (only Wizards' coach may be considered worse).
Indeed lol Great adjustment by McHale. I am curious to see how adjust tonight with Paul being out there. Dude opens up everything for them. I expect Reddick to shot lights out.
Agreed. I'm even quitely hoping we lose this series to the clips, so we can fire mchale and bring in Thibedeau. This team is WAY too undisciplined to win a championship.
There you have it folks. Actively rooting for his team to LOSE A PLAYOFF SERIES just to get the coach fired. This is crazy. 2nd best record in the West with an MVP candidate and a rejuvenated Dwight, but instead of rooting for a title he's rooting for a loss and a coach's firing.
Just being honest. I don't believe Mchale has what it takes to lead this team to a championship. Hopefully i'm wrong, but its what i feel at the moment.
You do realize that McHale is not going to be fired after this season, regardless of what happens against the Clippers? I wouldn't expect a more reasoned opinion from someone who thinks Canaan is a better point guard than Beverley.
I also would prefer Finch over Thibodeau. Tom has his flaws too, very stubborn coach. I've always liked Finch. His teams look well prepared teams, and he keeps a good balance between exigency and discipline and giving the players some freedom. Also, I analized Bickerstaff and Finch SL teams last summer, and I thought the Finch team was better prepared and better coached... Just my humble opinion. Finch as a head coach would help this team much more than McHale does.
LOL...not a surprise at all. Its the only thing that explains the idiotic posts on this forum. Its very clear many posters are hoping for a Rockets failure/flameout so they can complain more about McHale...here's a tip: it isn't going to work. He is going to be here anyway. Let me understand this expression "quitely hoping we lose"...so how does posting this on the internet keep your desires "quiet" LOL.
Have you noticed the iPad on the bench? Its only shown to individual player. Surely the rockets could develope this technique to provide real time data, video included and adjustments for both coaching staff and players. At that point, coaching is more about influencing ref and player altitude.
They need to stop shoving that ipad in Hardens face when he's resting. Those stats aren't doing any good. Ridiculous 2 cent coaching from Morey
