First time the Rangers won back to back games this season. Against the Astros, who were on a ten game win streak. Go figure.
pitchers are softies, mchugh and dallas should be able to pitch every other day! we'd have no issues then.
Hopefully nothing serious for Springer. He's started every game, he can use a day off anyhow. This rotation is gonna be a problem. I'm not panicking over Feldman, I'm still confident he'll be capable enough to keep us in most. Hopefully Obie can come back and pitch up to his previous numbers, that would be huge. As is I don't feel great about our starter 3/5 of the time.
I don't mind the losing streak ending. I don't mind losing to the Rangers (that much). I do mind getting dominated by Wandy f***ing Rodriguez. This is shaping up to be a real bummer of a sports week if this crap keeps happening.
Agreed. Our bats went to sleep the last couple days. Feldman will serve up clunkers every four or five games, as he has in the past. He actually reminds me of Wandy in that regard (at least Wandy in his prime) who would pitch great for the Astros for 3 or 4 games, then randomly get clobbered.
The last two games wouldnt have mattered pitching wise, scoring a single run in each isnt going to win many (any) games. I can hear the laughers now, peering out of the closet...Look, the STros lost two to the lowly Rangers. We need to stop the bleeding and win the finale. If you flip a coin, every once in a while, you might land "heads" 10 times in a row. On the same token, i truly hope we do not lose 8 of the next 12 or something like this. Ive been a fan for over 35 years. But at this point, I really dont know what to expect of this team. Or more importantly, I dont know if this team as currently constructed can win with some consistency.
i think carter should be sent off to triple aaa to 'develop' his Month of May hitting, bring him up once june starts.
Understand that you're likely joking, but a serious question: isn't Carter out of minor league options? So if the Astros go tired of him and can't find a trade partner, the only way to open up his roster spot is to put him on waivers/release him?
So, uh, with Springer out tonight our bench consists of Conger and Villar. I think it's time to send down one of our 35 relievers and call up another OF.

Maybe this shot to the head will be the equivalent of Roy O getting shocked by his tractor. Springer comes back and has superman vision and never strikes out again.
Contrary to popular belief, he has great vision, great bat speed, and great power. Just pretty poor hand-eye coordination.
