The crowd has to be given something to cheer for. They seemed into the game until the Rockets went into the tank in the 3rd and especially 4th quarters. But that's any NBA fanbase. The Spurs crowd wasn't exactly rocking in Game 6 when their team failed to show up and close out the Clippers.

Yeah I was there last night, and there was just no energy in the building. Very disappointing compared to my first playoff experience of 2015 against the Mavs.

Clutch was trying to get the crowd back in it but no one would bother. Poor lil old people even got a couple boos... Stupid rocket fans...!! Get loud pleaseeeee I beg you!!

A lot of fans are probably content with just getting out of the first round and just showed up to enjoy the game with no emotional build up waiting to release.

The players seemed to play the same way... like they already accomplished something and just showed up to the game relaxed without giving their best effort.

The Rockets made it hard to get into the game. They started terribly and generally turnovers kill home crowds.

At home I just felt dejected watching it. Couldn't get into it. We never had a rhythm from the beginning.

They played like trash and clearly gave up. Exactly what were we supposed to cheer for? By the end, I was personally yelling at them to act like they wanted to win, then eventually to have enough pride to actually finish the game instead of just quitting. If I spend $600 on a ticket, the least you can do is pretend you're interested in playing.

And the solution is always the same. If you think the crowd is terrible, buy a ticket yourself and go be not terrible.

The PA announcer has a lot to do with it, too. Down the stretch, I swear the PA announcer didn't try to start a chant of "DEFENSE!" or "LET'S GO, ROCKETS!"

There was absolutely no music, no PA announcer, nothing. The atmosphere was funeral-like.

    This. this. This.

Frankly we should have booed them. They earned that especially in the 4th quarter. Mindless turnovers when they needed execution. I heard fans chanting MVP when Harden was shooting FTs down 12 LMAO. I'm all for supporting the team and cheered my ass off until they coughed up the ball and left Matt Barnes and Crawford wide open for back to back 3s.

The Rockets needed to see us turn their back on them. I'm not happy they didn't boo them off the court while getting blown out. It's the playoffs. HAVE SOME SELF RESPECT.

Rockets did not deserve any crowd support, you are getting paid to play a sport. If you quit on a real job, you get laid off or at least a nice little meeting with your superior in his office. Players on the other hand can keep smiling with millions in their bank accounts. I can guarantee you, most went partying afterwards or would've liked to, they don't give a ****. Why should fans who paid hard earned money cheer for quitters? Most nights, crowds during the playoffs are solid, but you cannot give anybody **** for that losing fest.

You should find the biggest chill pill you can find and just shove it up your ass. I think that'll calm you down.

No, definitely not. But when harden was trying to make the comeback by hitting that 3 with under 6 to play and then almost hitting a tmac-esque 3 pointer (he got fouled) people were still dead instead of fueling the comeback

I was at the game the crowd was great I guess with the assistance of the red rowdies but overall in our section at the very least we did what we could even with the 7th grade turnovers.

I've noticed something with crowd chants (Defense, Let's Go Rockets, etc.). The Red Rowdies often are out of sync with the music being played in the stadium.

There were many times last night where the crowd would begin to chant early in the shot clock, but the Rowdies would be chanting to their own drums instead of the musical cues played over the PA system. So you'd have the Rowdies chanting off beat while the regular fans were trying to chant to the cues. Several times, this resulted in the crowd kind of giving up on the chants. Since I sit right above the Rowdies, I had to tune them out so that I could chant to the PA system cues.

The chants are at their loudest when the Rowdies are on beat. Someone needs to teach their drummers the basics of rhythm.

As for the Home Court thing as a whole, it goes both ways. The crowd has to bring the energy to pump up the players, but the players have to reciprocate. The crowd can't maintain intensity without the team making plays to get them excited.
