Those bonehead lazy bounce passes are part of the gameplan. He's been making them all year and during the playoffs. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

Me: Do you think McHale didn't talk to them about turnovers?
You: WAITING UNTIL HALFTIME IS TOO LATE!

Pretty much only one interpretation there. To your purported "broader point," I say that I'm fairly certain the issue has been discussed prior to tonight. You got it, though.

Exactly KlutchQT, Mchale was yelling that same exact thing tonight. He was livid on the sideline.

I would love to see you coach this team.

This feels like the Texans and Kubiak all over again.

Harden did step up on defense this year, but it should have been a focus when it was present, not a year later. It's an example of McHale's history of not holding his players accountable.

We were lucky to have drawn Dallas for the first round. Any other opponent and we likely would have lost in the 1st round again. Maybe then, we would have made some changes, but most likely the Rockets would consider making it into the 2nd round an improvement and not fix their glaring flaws.

This is like running the run and shoot offense and then saying don't throw any interceptions.

No sir I don't think that's part of the game plan. However, making the smart simple play/pass is part of the game plan. Unfortunately Harden and Josh abandoned that protocol.

Sometimes coaches just don't reach their players. Their advice falls on deaf ears. And if that's what's happening here it's still McHale's fault IMO. His job is to reach them and if he can't he needs to go.

Good coaches make the game easy for their players. I rarely see the rockets go to plays that slow things down and make it easier on them but maybe I'm just missing those moments. It always feels like organized chaos that sometimes works out.

If you care about the rockets you wouldn't. And your type of response is such a cop out. If I say a barber does a bad job cutting hair that doesn't mean I can do it better. It does however mean that a good barber could.

Yeah, see that's where we fundamentally disagree. If you make $18 million a year and need somebody to pat you on the head and remind you not to lose the basketball every time down, you already lost.

High turnover teams have gotten pretty far in the past.

Sounds to me just like the same geniuses that say jump shooting teams can't win it all or teams that give away x amount of points can't win.

At first I was hearing Mchale was a players coach who all the players respect and wants to play for. Now I am hearing he isn't a good coach because he is not reaching his players. Dangit man make up your mind around here. LOL.

Side note: We wouldn't have won the Division and made it to the 2nd round if it wasn't for that coach who isn't reaching his players.

Players needs to man up and play smart period.

He's like Kubiak: players love him, but don't fear him.

Maybe. It will be put to the test next year with the Thunder. Under Brooks they have historically been a high turnover team and many believe it's because of the lack of offensive game planning. It will be fun to see if Donovan can fix that.

No sir you have the formula in which will prevent these players from turning the ball over. Dude really though, this on the players, mainly Harden and Josh. If you played the game before, you were taught not to turn the ball over. To make the simple smart play. Harden dribbling the ball, did his usual crossover and left without the ball. Bwhahahah That has nothing to do with the coaching. Josh driving into the paint, jumps up in the air and then trying to pass the ball back out is on him. Wasn't we taught not to do that nonsense way back in elementary?

So we take the Spoelstra approach and we win through sheer talent. A coaching change might literally break this team up. McHale is loved by his players its gonna be hard to fire him and not break morale.

What Xs and Os guy could we hire anyway? I'm drawing blanks. Would have loved George Karl but too late for that now.

You don't have to fear your coach to be successful. The players need to value possessions, play defense, and give a damn, and McHale needs to take action against those who don't and bench them if the problem persists.
