Yeah I posted about this in this thread

Harden IS HORRENDOUS against the Clippers (his whole career)

Whatever perceived matchup advantage Harden has on paper actually doesnt happen in real life, its been the opposite.

This is the WORST team for Harden to just "snap back" into it.

Its gonna take some good coaching, some Harden introspection, and a FULL TEAM effort to make this series winnable

No one ever takes the Rockets serious and one reason why is because our players don't act like they want a championship. This loss was a sad because we were winning and we just threw homecourt away as if we were up 3-0. There were times we looked automatic behind the 3pt line during the season but now when it counts the most no one can make a shot.

Really not worried here, expected a loss for game 1. It seems that when a team is well rested (relative to the opponent), they either come out slow and sluggish and have to come back in the end to win, or they lose. Now that we have the game 1 kinks worked out, we will take game 2!

Should have won with Chris Paul out.

This will get worse when Paul plays.

Not necessarily. Paul playing that well with a hammy injury was an anomaly. He's going to extremely limited from here on out if he plays. Better than Rivers but not to point where its a guaranteed Clipps victory.

Blake Griffin is more of a contributor for the Clips with Paul hurt.

To beat the Clippers you have to constantly move on Offense. No Iso and no cross court passes. Players will have to pass the ball and set screens to get players open and free Harden. Josh needs to attack the rim when Howard is in the post instead of shooting 3s. On the defensive end keep Jordan out of the paint. Players will have to stay on 3pt shooters like Crawford, Reddrick, and Barnes. Be aware of screens because the Clippers live off of screens. When Chris Paul comes back I can guarantee that he will be using the pick and roll to get nearly all of his points. We need to not give any of their players space to breath. Then when Blake or Jordan come to set a pick. It will be harder to allow them to dribble.

If you watched him since his Wake Forest days, you would know that CP3 is a natural leader.

The whole team will follow him to war, the whole crew is going to take it a notch higher with him on the court.

That was the case when he was with the Nola Hornets, taking them to consecutive playoff appearances with less talent than on the Clips.

That is the case today. Yeah I hate his whining and flopping too but that had to be said.

He does not lead by scoring. He is scoring 10 pts less a game than Harden.... in other ways

He leads by flopping and crotch punching.

The worst part of it all was the complete failure of Josh Smith and Corey Brewer. Jones was very disappointing too.

Because I have a vagina. Any more questions?

ETA: Another person who hasn't posted outside of the Lin thread this year. How shocking.

We legit have no answer for Griffin.
And our transition D was terrible once again.

Harden neutralized himself in this game not Doc Rivers. He had freaking JJ Reddick on him so one would think he could take him off the dribble with ease. Another thing Harden turning the ball over at a rapid rate doesn't help his cause either.

The last two regular seasons games against the Clippers, he showed us he could. So don't count the bearded one out just yet.
