Villar is just the odd one out, regardless. He's not a good enough player right now to be in the big leagues. His ceiling is getting lower and lower as far as being able to stick as an "everyday" guy. Maybe he could fill a Marwin Gonzalez/Jose Vizcaino like role on a roster, but he's still got some improving to do in all aspects of the game. However, he does lead our team in post-HR dance coordination!
I dont see Villar as Gonzalez/Vizcaino like role player because he can't play defense. You want a utility guy that is able to make the easy plays, and not botcher those like he does frequently.

Altuve is the only player they know. I hope the players are instructed when the outside media comes calling and they will, to give them as little info as possible. Shut them out as they have done Houston forever.

I seriously feel like any game we play that we are favored to win right now. I like our top 2 pitchers against anybody and feel like our lineup can get the timely hitting they need to get runs off any teams ace.
Really enjoy reading the "**** the Astros!!" posts at the Mariners forums. Our division is really starting to like us.
This start to the season is AMAZING! Safe to say I think none of us expected or even dreamed it would be like this. It's all very exciting!
The best thing about Hinch managing this team, is that in yesterday's game, Porter would have swapped Sipp out to left field at some point and lost Gattis as the DH.
the best thing about Hinch is that he's not Porter? I love the full-on embracing of the FO's philosophy--not because I'm completely enamored with it, but rather because now we'll be able to see it prove itself one way or the other over the long haul.
When we first moved to the AL West, I wanted us to be a big disruption where all the other division teams would be just as pissed as we were that Bud moved us there. After getting beat up for a couple years, it's starting to happen.
I know I keep derailing these threads with the same question but... why do you care? Are you among the small minority that still believes ESPN is relevant? It's a large corporate shill; it's been that way for at least a decade and is not going to suddenly reverse course. They do not in any way, shape or form validate/invalidate what the Astros are doing, nor your fandom.
