Congrats to Curry, he did a ton to deserve it.

Congrats to Harden, his growth was unexpected but we now know that this certainly isn't his peak.

    Stay humble, stay hungry.

Does anyone remember the last time our best player robbed of an MVP when he met that MVP in the playoffs? Yeh it wasn't pretty for the MVP. Hopefully history will repeat itself.

How am I supposed to respond to this. "Hey congrats Stephen Curry" NO! eff that and eff Steph Curry who only won this because his team was 2 deep at ever position. And the media couldn't get their lips off his ass.

Curry hype machine does it again. It's just nauseating. ESPN makes sure to pan to his family at least once or twice a quarter.

This award SHOULD have gone to James Harden, and most NBA players with any clout would agree. Make no mistake, the media's disaffection for Dwight, Morey and the Rockets in general, and their love affair with Curry, Kerr and the Warriors played a huge role in the award going to Curry. I cannot wait for the WCF Game 1 in Oakland, CA where Harden will get a chance to shut all the naysayers up.

How is this a 5 star thread? Yeah it's useful information, but damn is the news contained in the post appalling.

I remember when David Robinson won MVP over Dream. And what Dream did to him that series. Ball don't lie.

Ask the GMs in the West which of the two they would rather have, the majority would answer Harden, I don't think it would be close.

    That's more important.

    AD
    Lebron
    Harden

    We're on the list. And he's a wise 25.

Y'all keep saying that Robinson stole the MVP award away from Dream, but I don't think it's that comparable. I mean Dream didn't even finish 3rd for centers in MVP voting that year.

Not saying Dream didn't play great that year, but it isn't like it was just a two way race with him and Drob. If anything that MVP belonged to Shaq as much as it did to Drob.

I think what stopped Dream getting more votes though is finishing 5th seed and playing less games. So there might be a little comparison between Harden and Dream.

I understand why they gave it to Steph Curry, but this was James Hardens' MVP.........and if not, then this was Daryl Morey's Executive of the Year......... and if not, then this was Kevin McHale's coach of the year....
Having half of your roster injured for an extended period of time and still winning the toughest Division in all sports in the most competitive Western Conference of the past twenty year warrants SOME kind of award. The National Media narrative against the Rockets never fails to amaze

I like your alias - good memories!

No need to label homers as creationists, that's a low blow.

By the numbers to calculate a player's value to his team, the answer is JAMES HARDEN. This is why our moneyball GM was so demonstrative in getting his name out there. The data was valid, Harden was the MVP.

Judging by highlight reels, team success & outstanding performance, the MVP IS Curry.

It's a difference in voting philosophy

In 6 weeks we can correct the title of this thread to read: "Warriors' Curry NBA MVP; Harden Finals MVP"

    Best player in the NBA?

    No that is LeBron.

Best season by an NBA player?

    No that was Harden?

Really good season or the team with a great record?

That is it... Enjoy your Steve Nash level MVP.

I believe Curry was the best player this year, but not the MVP. The meaning of the award needs to change or have a separate award.

Self loathing Rocket fans are rampant in this thread. It's sad really. Oh well.
